Right, can anyone help with this?

If you think your car maybe of interest give Will a shout.

I'm sure you'll agree it sounds like a great cause and should be a good day out.

Yes, remind me nearer the time. Currently free that week, and unless some work comes up I'd be more than happy to help out if a TVR would be welcome.

Chris, thanks for posting this up. We're looking like we have a good day lined up, but if you think you might be able to help please let me know. For the sake of housekeeping I'd appreciate it if you could post in the thread on FLMB (although all sports/supercars are welcome). No worries if you can't commit now. Any questions just ping me a PM or post on the thread.

Thanks,

Will

Please can those of you who have kindly offered their cars for this event send me a PM with your name and car details so I can put together a complete list of attendees. You can supply a contact number if you wish. If you are bringing any other cars with you please can you let me have the drivers name and car details too.

We will meet at about 10am on Thursday 21st at the Little Chef on the southbound carriageway of the A303, just past the M3/A303 interchange. The postcode for the Little Chef is SO21 3SP.

If anyone else is able to volunteer please let me know.

Many thanks in advance to you all! Any questions just post here or send me an e-mail.

Good morning,

There has been a minor change of plan for next Thursday. The organisers have had a change of heart regarding the road-rides element of the day (insurance issues or criminal record checks or something). Therefore there will just be low-speed rides for the children on a mown grass course (which, I am told, is short enough for a Caterham etc). I completely understand if those of you who have kindly volunteered to attend feel that this might not be suitable for you. Having said that, it would great to have the superb line up that we currently have, for the children to see and take pictures etc, so if you are only available for a couple of hours that would still be fantastic. If you wish to come directly to the airfield the location can be found here:
http://www.popham-airfield.co.uk/Location.htm

If you´re not able to attend please let me know so I can remove you from the list.

Apologies for the change, unfortunately it´s outside of my control.

This is a perfect and sickening cameo of EVERYTHING that's wrong with the UK.

Well Soovy it was always going to be the most complex part of the day anyway, what with the booster seat/height regulations for children, the fact that some of these kids are quite ill and should anything happen out on the road when they´re away from their parents/carers it could be very serious. Add to those factors that most of the drivers are not known personally to the organisers and I can understand the decision and the need for a more controlled environment.

It´s not like the Sporting Bears rides where the idea is for a paying guest to have a blast, it´s a day for the children to enjoy and as we know young kids can be at their happiest just looking at a big bright noisy car! So if we can at least achieve that then the day will have been a success.

Is this still happening? Despite the weather, which loks pretty cr@p at the moment.

I'm still game to come along, even if we can't take the kids for a proper ride (assuming I can get my exhaust back on!).

Will, I think I PM'd you with my details inc mobbie number. If I haven't please PM my and I'll reply.

Yes, still happening - just hoping for good weather. I got your PM, thank you - though clearly my reply didn't make it through!

If anyone else would like to bring any more cars to this event on Thursday, you'd be more than welcome - though please send me a PM with your name and car details. Currently we are 15 PHers which is fantastic.

To those of you who have kindly volunteered already - thank you in advance, fingers crossed for good(ish) weather and see you on Thursday.

Any problems or questions please feel free to PM me.

Many thanks again,

Will

Many thanks to all of you who made it today, it really was an amazing turnout and was such an important part of the day for the children. I hope that you all enjoyed it (I did!), though I seem to have grass and mud everywhere! It really was a terrific success, for which the organisers were really grateful. We certainly had a lot of happy faces at the end of the day, which is the whole point.

It was a fantastic effort, and a real tesatment to the positive power of PH. It was also great to put a few faces and cars to a few names from here. I think the sight of a Carrera GT drifting accross a field will stay with me for some time, let alone the Diablo roadster....!

Once again, many thanks to everyone and I'll stick up some pics shortly.

Yes it was a fabulous day, and so worth the looks of joy on those kids faces.

As for the GT, my memory will be of it nearly bloody T-boning me, and showering me with mud!

Great day.
