Things to do near New Milton

Hola Gents,
Hoping to take my first tiny holiday for the past year & some of which is gonna be spent down there with a pal of mine who's working there at the moment on a placement year.
Now he says to me that New Milton is very much like Worthing. Quite an elderly population, not much in the way of attractions & things to do. Now my problem is I dont think that's the case, especially listening to the Bournemouth lot, it sounds like all the fun is down that way
Any tips on things we can do/see while we're down there?

New Milton istself is a bit God's Waiting Room. But that's OK as it's nice and quiet!
Trotting into Bournemouth however is another thing; pubs, bars, clubs etc open all hours.
Then there is Poole/Poole Quay for a slightly more sophisticated evening out.
Loads of great country pubs in the New Forest.

Yeah I can imagine Bournemouth being a world away from New Milton. More looking for some sort of activity we can do, karting or something car related in some shape/form would be ideal. Zig zag hill; The Chase....LOADS of great roads.
There's a karting place (outdoor I think) around the Salisbury or Blandford area; Google it. But nice back roads to get there.
Indoor karting in Southampton just down the road.
