If i come, and we go down Coombes loop, i'd suggest not travelling behind me for the beginning bit, as my car is to low for that first 100-200m stretch of road. biggrin

May have another meet in the day so may be cutting of, but i'm well up for this.

Ironictwist, a, what the fk is your name shortened too, and b, speak to you soon about it. smile

Wouldnt bother me matey,
As mine certainly sits low and I would think the Noble would as well. So hope the local council has kept these roads upto scratch.

Coombes loop is ok after the first 100-200m. Theres one large bump a bit further in to the road which i spark on, but for a well setup car, it's a damn good laugh. Traffic gets annoying though. frown

Anywhom, see y'all bright an early in a few weeks. smile

Might be able to make it providing I've finished fitting a towbar that Saturday.

If it's still planned for the 14th?

I was speaking to Tim Lamont from ACT ( exhaust and track day silencer firm ) this morning and during our conversation Tim mentioned that he works closely with Austec Racing in Crawley and that they would be having an open day on the 14.9.08 with a hog roast amongst other things and said would I like to go along and have a look round. Now, my idea was this; Does anybody fancy dropping in and having a shufty during/after the run? I will be going regardless as I would like to make contact with these people with a view to getting some work on my Ultima done yes, just thought some/all of you might find it interesting that's all.

I've just been invited to a mate's 30th on the 13th - I'm sure there will be alcohol involved, so I may not a) be up early enough on Sunday and b) be sober by 06:30...

I may have to pass on this one chaps, sorry to bail.. frown

Wayne, I'll most likely be at Austec's open day (providing the car witholds the rigours of the Speed Trials the day before hehe)

Austec have looked after my Cerb for the past 4 and a bit years (rebuilt the engine for me at Xmas) and the car has several bits of ACT kit on it so I know Paul and Tim very well!

Recommend both of them highly thumbup

David Martin, Austec's engine builder, is one of the best in the business. One of Aston Martin's main engine men in the 80's and 90s and the man responsible for building my engine smile

By the way, did you see what Austec had on their Rolling Road yesterday? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I'm working on the saturday night, finish at 7 on sunday morning, then it's an hours drive home to Horsham, then another 30 mins or so to Shoreham! So I doubt I'll be able to make it. But, if for some chance I can get away a bit early, what is the latest you'll want to leave Shoreham?

[quote=GTWayne]Well, if you fellas out West can have the Hampshire Ring, I don't see a problem with this do you?
DATE 14.9.08
TIME 0645 for 0700 departure
MEETING POINT Shoreham Airport main building
THINGS TO BRING Chocolate bar ( imperative that you keep your blood sugar level up, don't want anyone falling asleep behind the wheel nono ) pen and paper ( may come in handy if you forget to bring a camera so that you can do some sketching biggrin: ) and last but not least some spare pants ( these can double up as something to wipe oily hands on if not used in an emergency yes ). UPDATE
Me and Nicksy were out this afternoon trying to iron out the last leg of the run. It is all down on paper and we are planning to do a trial run in some proper cars @ 0600 Friday morning. We checked out the cafe and all is well for the intended times. I think that given the sh!te weather of late we should meet as planned and decide at the airport yes
We also thought that we will do the run, have some chop and then make our way up to Austec and any that are interested are free to join in.

If you're coming from the west, note that the A27 will be closed at Arundel.

I've put details here
