Is this the go-kart meet for the southerners?

I stumbled upon a similar thread earlier but cant find my way back to it. And if youre Karting in the South, Thruxton Kart Centre is the best venue for it - bar none.

Bit of a new years blast I thought.

Bugger! I saw the 3rd of Jan and thought, "Great, I can make that date", but I'm working on the 4th so it's a no-can-do from me. frown

The Boxing Day meet is more than 'Classic cars'.
You will find the square and all the surrounding roads packed with every form of transport you can imagine from horse and cart through to Ultima (had to get that in) along with military, steam, motorbikes etc.
If you get there early don't expect to get away until early afternoon as you will be locked in as every inch of the square will be taken.

Steve
Steve, is there a website with further details? I may bring the whole family along.
Doesn't seem to be but that's probably because the meeting pre-dates the internet.
If you Google it you just get a flood of car and bike forums all with it in their calendar.

Steve
You're not kidding...Mentioned everywhere, but everywhere also has very vague details about what goes on, if anything at all!

Will have to pop along smile

Steve...From past experience do you know of any spots in Wickham where we could probably park up without getting blocked in hehe Anything like disabled spaces?

I'm tempted to come down, issue is if I bring my old dad along & he wants to go after a while, we will be stumped if we're boxed in!

Could do...I don't know about anyone else but it would be nice to meet up, convoy up to somewhere & be able to either watch/do something for a few hours then head back.

Anything decent going on around the area at the time or at Thruxton?

I was looking last night & there doesn't seem to be much on at all around that date, the only motoring related show near that time is the PH Show @ Birmingham :/ Aside from that, we could always do runs down to Haynes or Beaulieu, but even those would require us to cough up a little bit.
