I fancy getting some new wheels
Discussion
Agreed matt, there have been a few unhappy customers
Wobba im probably going to go down the coilover route. I did buy some prodrive springs but decided not to fit them as they dont drop it much and the standard shocks on the rear can knock after about 3 years. Mine is just getting to that age so i didnt want to spend £300 getting them fitted and geo'd only to get a knock a week later.
I have looked about at different coilovers and like the AST and Apex/BC options. AST is about £300 more but both will cost me over a £1000 once fitted and set up so not rushing into it. I will do the suspension before i do the wheels in all honesty.
Another set of wheels i like are Ultralite Atec 2's in gunmetal. I think they would look pretty awesome.

The gunmetal looks nice on those.
I've heard the AST's are a damn good choice, but a bit out of touch with Scoob stuff nowadays.
Are the minimum width on the Ultralite's 8.5"? Just thinking it may make 'em tramline a bit with excessive width. Not driven your spec car so couldn't say, but I think max recommended width in the old days was 8" to avoid adverse effects. I'll have to pop over to scoobynet and gen up a bit on stuff like this again...

I replaced my mates suspension on his classic with whiteline springs which didn't drop it at all! he was so disappointed!!

They do look nice Dave - maybe not in Chrome though!!
Not up for fitting my suspension myself. I would probably put it on upside down or something.
Here are the Atec 2's
And here are some alternative Ultralites
Thoughts!!

They are a nice shade I think they would suit your car..
Yeah i know, they are a favorite of mine. They come in gold as well which look really nice.
I have been speaking to a bloke at Tweakculture who supply Rota wheels. He agrees with you Wobba about the width and he said that 18 x 9.5" will need lots of wheel arch adjustments etc . . . . . which im not up for.
He has recommended this size and offset below. I like it espcially in the bronze as the car in the photo is the same colour as mine. It seems to sit nicely and they fill the arches well i think?

Almost bought some of these myself some time ago. I think they do a drift version too hehe, popular for the Nissan Silvia and rear wheel drive Skylines etc I have been speaking to a bloke at Tweakculture who supply Rota wheels. No they are Rota Formula Mesh. I found the photos on NASIOC (north american subaru impreza owners club) site. There are places in the uk that sell Rota wheels but i havent fouund any that sell these. May need to do some digging around to find them! If not i may just copy Ant and get the Rota Torques instead -
