Yes that and 2 Williams hehe

I didn't realise the Trophy was that hard core... interesting, Luke this does sound like potentially the way forward>

Most of work went on better suspension all round (Sachs dampers) and it rides 10mm lower than the 182 as standard. Different wheels also give it a wider track.

When I was looking, I just thought to myself. Mind as well go fully balls out if you can afford the Trophy over the 182/ cup/ what ever mixture of cup and normal. I hear the standard 182's xenons aren't brilliant anyway?

Then I went bonkers, decided I didn't need all of the extra comfort and goodies. So I went to the other extreme and went poverty spec in comparison. After looking for the best handling, fastest most fun car for my money.
I thought that I could afford to loose the xenons and climate (I had never had these things to loose as such) in going from a full fat 182 to a trophy version.

Why not loose (or not gain) it all and get one of the best handling cars out there today?

Your Dad would agree I'm sure.

Don't bloody start! hehe
I'd dearly love one, but I'd want to garage it... in the near future I'm sure I'll have one though!

Anyhoo, the Trophy...
I'm with Matt, the only thing I'm not sure on is the colour... scratchchin
I'm not bothered about the lack of climate, I'd be quite happy if it only had a heater, my current car has no a/c and I don't need it... wink
Would like the xenons though, and I thought they were a fair amount better than the standard ones...
AFAIR they're fairly easy to retrofit though (although a bit pricey).

No back pain at the moment... although the seats in the hire car are paralysing me! hehe
I don't want any of that to be honest... although if anything does set in I shall be straight off to the quack.

And I think Matt's right... that TVR is a straight ticket to financial ruin for someone my age! hehe

Lets be honest, he will probably do an ironio, and buy a cheap 1.2 corsa instead of manning up and doing the PH thing and getting a 182. After literally years of persuasion he gets an MX5 instead of the long awaited TVR.

To many dreamers, not enough men! I feel a bit sick just thinking about it.

Too many dreamers, not enough believers...

Couldn't agree more, doubt it will ever happen.

3yrs NCB and I'm looking at policies with an 8k mileage limit, that should be more than enough smile

Not interested in a Mini, especially the GP Works... really don't like them!

Sorry Mike, if I had moved I would have been prepared to do a deal, but I was still in Bournemouth and couldn't afford to run one from there! frown

Assuming my car is written off (likely!) and I can get hold of the money (likely!) then a 182 it will be.
Just need to find out what's going to happen with my car and the settlement...
Am away for a few weeks, so will try and get stuff sorted after that.
Looks like I will be able to insure it though! smile

About a year younger then me arnt you 22? Would of thought if you did decide to shop around abit on the TVR you might get insurance for £500.
When I was 21, I could get insurance on the G which is a 1600 with 2years ncb limited to 5000miles for £360.

Also Adrian Flux seem to be clueless, unhelpful and expensive as if all goes well next week they'll be over £200 more then my next policy which includes more like roadside assistance and miles but less on the excess.
Give Sureterm ago http://www.sureterm.com/ as theyve been good to me the past two years.

A Tiv isn't really what I want to be honest and even if it was, I wouldn't want to run one as I doubt I could afford it at the moment!

Get a 182 - you won't be disappointed smile

I had the full fat 182 with all the gadgets and extras. The Trophy is the only other 182 I would have considered, but I'd already bought mine beforehand.

182 with Recaro's http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/954928.htm.

Personally I think you might regret not getting a Trophy if you have the budget and insurance is available.

That 17k Trophy looks mint, they don't tend to hang around long though...

Oh well, it's just a waiting game now. Have heard nothing from my insurance company (and I'm away on Friday for just over a week, so can't really do much then!) beyond they now have written liability from the guy that caused the accident.

Waiting... whistle

Slightly off-topic, sorry, but Luke, how tall are you? I'm 6ft 4 and looking at an 03 Clio Dynamique, but I can't remember whether or not I could get in the drivers seat.

Back on topic, Fiesta ST?
