Slightly off-topic, sorry, but Luke, how tall are you? I'm 6ft 4 and looking at an 03 Clio Dynamique, but I can't remember whether or not I could get in the drivers seat.

Back on topic, Fiesta ST?
Whilst the Fiesta is a good little car in its own right, it's never really had enough power to compete with the other hot hatches in the market. If you bought one, you'd soon wish you'd got something with a bit more poke - like the 182 wink

With reference to the Fiesta, pretty much the above! smile
I'm about 2'3 so I'm not much use or a height reference! wink
I reckon you could struggle with getting the seat back enough, definitely try before you buy!

In fact as mine is being repaired, which I am rather happy about as it means I needn't rush into buying a car, you're welcome to try mine if you like! smile
I think a bit of saving now I have no more silly fuel bills and I'll have a new car soon.
It will be a hot hatch (a little 'un wink ) though as I did look into insurance for some sillier stuff and it was far higher than I had expected! Anything really fun (Elise, VX, Ph2 Clio V6 etc.) was all at least £1500+ even for a limited mileage policy... eek
In a few more years methinks...
Dad suggested adding me to the Seven policy, so just want to see if that's reasonable at the moment!

That's cool, thanks for the offer. I'm going to my local Renault dealer tomorrow to try a Dynamique for size, if it's okay, I'm going to see a fully-specced 04 1.2-16v on Wednesday. How are they for reliability?
Good luck with the 7 insurance, I'd do anything to get the chance to drive one of them!

I've had no problems with mine whatsoever. Nothing has fallen off or broken etc.
Report back on what you do! smile

Luke, the Seven insurance shouldn't be too bad. Way under a grand anyway. Limited mileage and it'll be even cheaper.

Waugh-terfall - I'm just down the road from you, could take you for a spin one day maybe?

I bloody hope it costs less than that for me to be added to the policy, otherwise I won't be!
My dad is paying £130 p/a at the moment for a 6k limit.
I'm not desperate enough to justify paying silly money to be added to the policy as I have driven it before on track and driven a friends far more powerful Seven as well! driving

Well I've only 2 years no claims, 3 points, 12K per year and being young.

Still cheaper than what I could have insured a 182 for at the time.

Parents weren't so keen on the idea of a Clio, I could only get in it with the seat right back/down, wheel right up. I doubt I could fit in one without a sunroof... Which is a shame, because the car was gorgeous and had every factory option on it. I'm going to see a 47,000mi 53-reg 3dr Megane Dynamique 1.4 and a 46,000mi Honda Jazz SE Sport 1.4i-DSI on Wednesday

Be interesting to see how much it'll cost to get me added to my dad's policy then! smile

ETA Shame about the car!

Really? That'd be cool! Where are you? Petersfield?
