Advice please.

I'll be coming down this weekend to watch the footy at St Marys. I was planning to park the car at Westquay so my other half could go shopping and then I'd walk across town to the game.

However I'm a bit worried that the car parks will be full at 13:30 or so and I'll be in a mess. I have a plan B which is to use the park and ride scheme, and the other half can then walk to the shops.

Recommedations?

The Podium Car Park might be full (underneath the shops) but the main West Quay multi storey (next to Ikea) will be fine.

Will there be a lot of traffic trying to get into this car park do you think?

As above although the podium may get full there is fairly expansive parking in that area, somewhere usually has some - I would however leave yourself a fairly substantial amount of time over what you think you'll need - on occasion it's taken us an hour and a half to get into West Quay and park at that time, and we live 3 miles away...

Just to note the podium isn't too bad, but the NCP car park there is rather horrifically expensive, means there is usually spaces but expect to need a re mortgage if you intend to park for more than an hour...

If you are still concerned, You can always take advantage of the park n ride, or park on the outskirts of town and hop a normal bus!

In the good old premiership days i used to park in Woolston and walk over the Ichen bridge!
It's not too far from the ground and the time the missus reaches west quay she will be too tired to shop..which should help prevent the card being spanked too hard smile

i'd stay at home if i was you... they'll only lose.. either that, or you'll turn up and the money-grabbing barstewards in charge of the club would have ripped down the stadium and turned it into housing association properties (there might be more truth in that than you would think!)

Thanks for the advice folks.

BTW I'm rather hoping Soton do get beaten as I'm a Burnley supporter smile

Park at the new oceans multi story car park in ocean village behind the cinema. It's cheaper and much closer to the ground than west quay.
