I got "dropped" halfway round just past the West meon hut the second time round, when the "helpful" bunch I was with went round the Landy on the double whites, and by the time I'd got past had fked off despite the fact I wasn't hanging about. Not great but hey ho. Still I got to clear my cars throat a bit before the service is due tomorrow so it wasn't a wasted effort.

Have to say if these runs are going to continue for me, things need to calm a bit. Not everyone's car does 150 leptons, and what's the point of meeting as a group if we don't stop every now and then to regroup? I ended up sat in the middle of the road just before the Morestead turn with fk off great lorries bearing down on me when we stopped because the laybay was full and the people in front started to pull out, then stopped etc. I was trying to hang back to wait for Ginge, but couldn't afford to lose the back of the people I was with as I had no clue where we were going.

I love our runs but please peeps, lets not put people off.

Oh and cheers for the mouthful of gravel from the middle of the road from the Aston winkbiggrin I'll put my lid on next time biggrin

Oh, and that porkers sound made me do a sex wee...

I'm not complaining about the pace, that was fun pace and it's not often I get a good excuse to release the beast properly at fun pace. I did think my bunch had missed the pub but as I was running at the back of the pack I wasn't able to do much about it. It's always fun to blast around the back roads and morstead road is always epic ( as long as the weather holds like it did tonight).

Don't get me wrong, the average pace isn't an issue on the twisty bits, the problem is that if one group gets clear road and fully releases the beast, then your nearly half way round the ring before the group gets back together even if they slow down a bit. Surely part of the fun is the fact that we are a nice sized group of cars driving round in a bit of a convoy... The Morestead road was made more great for me because I had beautiful cars in front and my mirrors full of more gorgeous cars as well as the group was back in one piece.

Thanks -- not often people say that about my Astra engine when there are Lambos and Astons around! biggrin

Good fun run although I did manage to get tangled up in the middle of a very slow bunch of bikers at the end of the A272 (about 3 of whom quite happily pulled out from a side junction about 20 feet in front of the Murci bearing down on them at God-knows-what speed!) and had to guess whether to head up to Tesco or not. Fortunately made the right decision -- and was impressed at our ability to completely block one lane of the road -- let's try not to do that next time wink

Sorry I couldn't hang around at the pub, have to catch you all next time. It would be nice if the route was decided pre-event next time like they sometimes are, although that does give an increased chance of speed camera vans I suppose!

Cracking evening and good to put some faces to some names. First half of the run certainly wasnt what I had in mind stuck behind a load crotch rockets that appeared to be stuck in 1st gear and so bunched together was a mission to try and pass!!! When we did finally get a bit of open road had a good catch up sprint with Ginger breadman who luckily seemed to know where he was going, cheers fella!

I must say a slightly more organised route would have been handy but with all the detours and finishing under the cover of darkness made for a very entertaining drive.

Hope to catch up with you all (literally biglaugh) again soon!

it did seem to be i was with the same 4-5 cars for the majority of the run and the stopping in that layby full of trucks not wise i think it would of made more sense for us to go up to tescos in the future.
if i have upset any one with my standards of driving please do say but we all have a couple of intresting moments we wish not to repeat and tonight i can safly say that there are some i wont be repeating. maybe untill i have the 300bhp under the bonnet of the derv. but i shall hope to see you all again soon.

Sorry about that, I think you were behind me (Noble) I had no idea where we were going so I Stuck to that very nippy C4. Yes overtaking on double Whites is against the law but so is speeding and there was enough room easily or I wouldn't have followed the others.

I think the more we do it then people will get used to the run and following people won't be such an issue.
