Hi,

I'm looking for a good ICE installer to fit 2/3 Screens and DVD player etc in my Discovery.

I don't just want aftermarket "near match" headrests etc, I want a good job doing.

Anyone any suggestions?

Cheers

I used Base systems in Preston a lot about 10 years ago when I was really in to car hi-fi. They did some very good installs and always discounted products for me, but then I was spending ridiculous amounts of money with them.

They are still there on Fylde Road but I haven't been in for a long time.

Thanks, I use Base all the time for various bits and pieces but lost a bit of confidence in them as far as a proper install goes when I was looking to have my last car done.

Ended up using someone else local but they just didn't quite hit the spot either.

Base upgraded the factory sat nav in my Arnage last year. Not a massive job-just swapped the DVD drive over in the boot but had to work around a different sized DVD player and adapt the wiring loom slightly.I thought they did a good job.

Thanks for the help, i've also used Bob at Car Radio in the past.

Following some more research i'm installing 2 x ipad 2's with a 500gb portable/wireless hard drive in the boot which will stream 3 different films or the same film to up to 3 ipads.

It will be a good portable solution, also giving us another Ipad for the family to use etc.

Thread resurrection!

I have a 2011 audi a8 and would like to have the ability to seamlessly slot in an iPad or 2 onto the backs of the front seats to give my rear seat passengers the ability to watch movies and so on. I can kinda do this rarely essily using mounting brackets and a couple of long charger cables with and a had disk in the boot but would like something that looks bespoke.

Looks like some of you may have done this - any thoughts, tips, suggestions, gotchas?

E.g. Should I think about integrating the whole lot to my cars existing ice (the audi mmi stuff is quite good already)? Should fit a permanent wireless 3/4g dongle in the boot? Etc etc.

Thanks all!
