I stumbled across a new car wash / detailer yesterday just off Deansgate in Manchester having done a little searching. I dropped off the M135i there (I was a little nervous at first) and asked for a mini valet and a wax (using my own stuff).

Anyways, an hour later it was done and I was really pleased with the results. For £15 it was an absolute bargain althoug having chatted with the owner he said his normal price should have been £20 but it was quiet.

The guy that owns it has moved from a small unit off Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton. He's a good lad and has big ambitions for the place. It's the old Dave Sheldon tyres unit behind where Peugeot used to be.

Definitely worth a try but they are just starting out in the unit. The service was good and you can tell he has a passion for what he does. Prices are also good. They did the usual 2 bucket method and such and in time will be upgrading the kit. He has a Facebook page also which is worth a look.

Just thought I would share this. I've been struggling finding anywhere I can trust with the car so I'm happy to have found this.

Do you happen to know how they washed the car? Sponge/mitt, two bucket etc

I've been looking for somewhere decent but everywhere either uses some sort of yard brush or a sponge that might as well be filled with glass.

I haven't been back in a while as I've been doing it myself. I should at some point though.

The American Car Wash near Wing Yip (North side of city centre) was always the best ... but am going back 5 years ...

Just in there now. They've so far degreased, snow foam, rinse and 2 bucket with lambs wool mitt. Bit disappointed they're using a leather rather than drying towels. Also did the calipers and wheels with a detailing brush. Bunch of young lads, but it's not a hand car wash and the owner definitely is passionate about what he does. He cringed when I gently rubbed my bumper whilst it was dirty, as he thought there was a mark there. So I think he keeps the young ones honest.

I went a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning. It was probably around 10am. There was no sign of life and I hadn't been since my first visit so I assumed they'd closed shop.
