Ideally I'm after a garage nearby (Tameside) but New Charter who apparently own them all in this area have me on the waiting list which is already quite large so doesn't look likely any time soon.
My other option is to pay for proper car storage for the worst months of the year, say Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb, but thats a bit pricey for 4 months you're looking at around £300 - £400.

Anyone any pointers, or even a spare corner in a unit somehwere!?

Can't help specifically, but this question pops up occasionally. Try talking to neighbours who have a garage you could rent (that's worked for me in the past) or maybe older established car dealers with big workshops could rent you a corner. A friend over-winters his Aston in the corner of his detailers' workshop.

This chap stored my Dads Midget for a while. http://www.finerdetails.co.uk/

He's called Ian and he's in Chadderton, I've met him a couple of times, seems a nice bloke.

Where in tameside are you?

There are some garages at the end of hillside crescent in Ashton under lyne, just past tameside hospital that are for rent and look very secure?

Might be worth a look.

Mossley, so thats really close. Any idea who owns them? Streetview shows a to let sign outside, might drive past on my way home tomorrow and scope it out.

Not sure who owns them but there was a to let sign there last week. They were marketed by cordingleys a while back and I'm sure they were then all sold for circa £100k at auction. I think there are ten in total and they have the extra security of a large steel fence surrounding the individual garages.

The street looks like council houses but it's actually not a bad area at all and a pretty quiet street. The street is a mix of owner occupiers and renters. The houses are ex mod houses that used to serve the nearby barracks a few years back. I own 3 houses on there and all my tenants are settled and have been there for 4 years plus. They all say that its a quiet street and as far as I'm aware have never had any problems, touch wood!!!!!

Good luck.
