Thanks for the heads-up smile

I'm in Millom so might venture over for this. I always seem to find out about local stuff after it has happened so it's good to know in advance!

Apparently all tickets for the Elite Sports and Perfomance show at J36 Auction Mart have completely sold out and you can't even turn up and pay to get in. It's full!

Tickets are sold out but that dosnt mean people can't get in. Unfortunately there arnt any spaces left for people to show their car off.
It's a fluid event so people will be coming and going all day.
You can still pay on the day to get around

The display is full and 310 cars expected.
You can turn up on the day and pay to get in but you will have to use the public parking area.

Show opens at 10am till 5pm

Really enjoyed this, especially the ride up in Rocco's Diablo. An intoxicating V12 and Lamborghini doors make quite the fuss. Some pictures:

The lass who owns that G-Wagen lives in my village, the mrs had spotted on facebook she was there. Not sure if the MP4-12C belongs to someone in her family, might have to try blagging a ride if it does...
We considered going to the show on Sunday but didn't bother in the end, maybe next year.

Just spotted this thread. Usually don't know where to look for locals as I live right on the border, and both the NW and Scotland sections cover large parts of the country. I say I live on the border, my parents do, and I'm at uni down country but travel up quite often. Carlisle is 20 mins away, would be good to meet up with some fellow petrolheads when I'm in the area, will keep this thread bookmarked. thumbup

Don't own anything that ranks high in PH points car wise yet but hopefully that'll change once I'm working (i.e. very soon!)

Just wanted to chime in here as a Cumbrian PH'er

Just bought a 997 CarreraS which is going to be taking me to work in Carlisle, and amusing me on the weekly drive over to Whitehaven...

Congrats on your excellent purchase! smile

I live and work around Carlisle and often drive over to Whitehaven to see family, so no doubt I will see you around!

The fastest I have ever made the Carlisle to Whitehaven run is 27 minutes. Thats a decent lap time for you to beat biggrin

yes it is awful, I've had to do it once a week for 2 years now.

a few very good straight bits, and actually quite a testing UK A/B road for driving.

Mitsubishi Evo 6 - lightly tuned to around 390bhp.

Just after midnight. No traffic.

No less than approx 80mph round the twisty bits bar the odd bad bend and the roundabouts.

140ish on all the straights such as Moota.

Almost 40 miles exactly.

Average speed 88mph.

Right car, dry conditions, good tyres and no traffic and you'll get there!

The Evo was in it's element as you can imagine. Can't get near that time in my 993.
