I am going to be making my annual trip over to Oulton Park for the Gold Cup on August bank holiday weekend. Wondering if there are any other PH'ers going along?

I will be there with a few friends for the weekend. By all means say hello, have a beer with us and a chat. We will be camping with a silver e46 325ci, white clio 197 cup and a red accord type r.

I am, I'll have the car on my multi-marque club stand, the South Cheshire Collectors Car Club.

Haven't shanksed it to Druids before, so i'll recce that at carfest next weekend. Thankyou.

The avenue, cascades, lakeside is great for panning too, and cascades kitty litter can be a bit of a car park if you get the odd shower.

I've had less success with panning at Druids than anywhere else, but still practising. I've tried all sorts to get a classic car display spot at Carfest, unfortunately I'm not in a club that's big enough to have enough people prepared to pay the price for a club stand and they don't seem to want individual entries.

One of the members of Porsche Club GB tested the water last year with members (I think on Pistonheads, but may have been pcgb forums).

I don't think anything came of it, but I couldn't khow if it was down to challenges or just a lack of member response.

I got this image form last years GT champ on the exit of druids, took a couple of attempts but was quite happy with it.

That's nice - I had a look in my photobucket for the last couple of years and all the pans are from elsewhere, so I mustn't have caught anything worthwhile. So something to try this year.

Another addition will be joining our small campsite in the shape of a black 1979 MG Midget (will be wearing its PH smiley with pride). Younger brother picked it up from Kings Lynn yesterday and enjoyed a 50mph drive all the way back to Teesside! Cheap open top motoring and hopefully it stays dry.

Certainly hoping to be there, fenby, as I've not been to this meeting before. I've been to a couple of events at Oulton Park recently (AMOC raceday and British GT championship), and will probably be watching the proceedings from usual places - Cascades, Avenue and Knickerbrook. We (MrsT66 and I) like to get there early for a big breakfast at Chequers - lovely way to start the day. Hopefully the weather will hold out as there are a few decent picnic spots, too. Oh, I'll be in the Puma, as usual!

If it's not p****** it down I might go on the Saturday - dark blue BMW 335d Coupe usually somewhere between Knickerbrook and Britten's, although most of the time I'll be away snapping.

Druids is one of my favourite spots.. Seems to separate the men from the boys! I've probably taken more pics there than anywhere else in the last couple of years since I've been snapping, so it's worth spending some time there. I don't put much on Flickr but there are few on from the BTCC last year..

It's a couple of years since I've been to the Gold Cup - do they now have a specific parking area for interesting stuff and do I have to book in advance / pay extra?
