Just found our that there was a classic car show event on in St Helens in Sept this year. I was surprised because I hadn't heard of it before (being on my doorstep), you'd think St Helens town centre would be last place to have such an event. Looked to be a good turn out from what I discovered; there was even an Aston DB5 on display (hope all the chavs and scallies didn't get too near that lol. But what I find abit of a gripe was that this didn't seem to get any mention on the PH northwest area forum, and you'd think at least someone would've mention it being all things motoring and events, but for some reason it seemed to have slipped alot of people's minds. I only came upon hearing of it by accident. Anyone here attended this show? and does anyone know if this will take place next year?

It's been on for the last few years, it just seems like there is really bad advertising of it.

Shame really, as most little shows are biting the dust these days.

the problem is with a st. helens car show is that you need to fence the cars off to stop people playing with them like in the old days when it was run by george houghton in sherdley park

It's been on for years my dad has shown some of his cars dating back as far as the early 90's.

My parents live in St Helens (I grew up there) and, although I don't go into town very often, I have noticed that the place appears to have generally got its act together a bit in recent times and there do seem to be more events on.

You're kidding right?

The town centre is a wasteland. It's just the same old stuff, they're just advertising it a bit more if that's the case.

Nothing ever happens here apart from shops shutting down.
