Hi All,

I am just looking for a bit of advice from someone who has experienced commuting from Warrington (or surrounding areas) to chester on a daily basis, i am just looking for some advice as to how bad the traffic is I will more than likely be heading through warrington town centre, daresbury expressway and then the m56. I pretty much know what to expect through warrington and daresbury eexpressway, i am more looking for advice on what the m56, a56 and the road into the city centre I beleive it is called george street? is like on daily basis?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

Average rush hour journey time 45mins end to end. 50% motorway 50% warrington traffic Any accidents double it.

Depends where you are in Warrington, 44 minutes in peak traffic is probably reasonable, the worst traffic on the m56 flows the other way, people coming off the Wirral and Chester to go up to south mancs. The runcorn bridge debacle will be finished soon.

The M56 towards Chester is not that busy, nor then the M53. The A56 (Hoole Way) will be busy. Then I assume you'll be parking in the new car park on Delamere Street as it's right next to George Street. From the end of Hoole Way to the car park will not be mega busy at peak time (it's no Manchester !). You'll need to go round in a loop to get to where you are going as it's one-way.

Chester City Centre traffic is not that bad compared to other places.

I think it'll be OK, you're going against the traffic for the majority of the journey there and back. I wouldn't want to do the opposite though.

I'm so glad I went to the trouble of answering this question.
