Lunch at the Highest pub in Britan Cat and Fiddle.
Because I know everyone believes everything they read on the internet:
" The Cat & Fiddle Inn stands 1,690 feet above sea level and looks over thousands of acres of unspoilt countryside in every direction."
"The Tan Hill Inn is a very special place, occupying a lonely site, high in the Yorkshire Dales. It is in fact, the highest pub in Britain at 1,732ft above sea level."

Do it really fking matter? It's high. That's all we need to know. It will be cold too. What's a few feet between friends?

If that's the case I'm going to Tan Hill,I was only going to visit the highest pub in Britain.
The weather forecast varies immensely from town to town. Belper, Matlock way is supposed to be glorious sunshine for Saturday, whilst Chesterfield, Buxton way is pissing it down.
I reckon it will be grey & gloomy on the Cat & Fiddle road anyway.
Weather here at the moment is foul, BG hasnt been cleaned.
Looking forward to this, and meeting a lot of new PH'ers.
Cya tomorrow.

Bugger. I'd love to drive out and meet everyone for the Cat & Fiddle run (living right at the bottom of it, it's fairly easy). Pity i'm working really.
Perhaps we could come to you? route & time permitting. That'd be superb, come and gawp over some of my cars. I'm only based 5 minutes away from the bottom of the cat and fiddle anyway.

SK104AL. I'll get the kettle on about 2.30ish.
Are you sure we wont annoy the villagers too much? Wouldnt want to hurt their delicate sensibilities and all that. Have they recovered from shock of having street lighting fitted yet?
I'm pretty sure there were one or two heart attacks over that. It got quite amazingly heated at one point i'm lead to believe.

Isn't the Cat & Fiddle the highest actual "Inn", ie it offers accomodation, whereas the Tan doesn't (despite its name).
7 bedrooms, holiday flat, bunk barn and camping.
