Calling all Lancashire Lads and Lasses or anyone in nice places in the NW!!!

I will be visiting family in Preston over the easter weekend and would love to head out for a decent drive or 2 with some like minded local bods who know the roads to some of the emptiest and most scenic bits (I need to see some hills while I am away from Bedfordshire!!!!!)

Post back so we can sort something out. "All unofficial and coincidental like"

Parents' two tickets to Amsterdam for the week: £something.

Porsche: £1300

Replacement ignition componants: £30

Replacement air hose and fuel filter on discovering that the problem wasn't with the ignition at all: £20

Tank of petrol: £20

Compilation of '60s film themes: £15

Getting up at 6AM to beat the traffic: £my sanity

That moment on the cat & fiddle run when Flatcap & Bluerinse in their Rover 216SLi indicate off towards Teg's Nose, the twisties are clear, the morning sun is casting an artistic haze over the hillside and the first few bars of On Days Like These strike up: Priceless

There are plenty of things money can buy, for everything else there's PistonHedonism.

Cheadle Hulme->Macclesfield->Cat & Fiddle to Buxton->A6 to the Tideswell turn-off->Tideswell->Chapel-en-le-Frith->Hazel Grove->Cheadle Hulme again.

And not one solitary car in front of me.

Dammit I love impromptu early morning pre-breakfast hoons!

My Husband and I did the same thing yesterday. Got in the Cayman and Elise and were on the C&F at about 8:15. We went up to the C&F and then down to the Bosley lights on the A54. At Bosley Lights we turned round, swapped cars and went back up the A54 to the C&F and then back into Macc.

Excellant days for it.

The A54 from Bosley up to the C&F is one of my fave roads, miles more challenging than the Cat itself imo

As for the chap heading to Preston, just hit the A6 north of Preston and go into the Forest of Bowland area, Chipping has a couple of nice pubs for lunch if I recall ?
