I get taken round both on a regular occasion... Her Ladyship has a facination in seeing what the current ranges are, and seeing if we need to augment our current line up of tents rolleyes

hehe

ps - winfields display is outdoors, while castlecroft deals mainly in Caravans, but had a largeish dislpay of tents indoors (and upstairs)

If you want weatherproof get an RV - otherwise if the rain = too much for the tent.....sleep in the car

RV = cost a bit more - get to hob-nob with the rich mob. Can't see the point in taking a sports car.

RICH crusties with dogs on strings.

Isn't it £50 extra for the RV park?

crusties? have seen how much type 2 goes for theses days???

ps - always look at the hydrostatic head rating when looking at tents. a 2 or 3m hydro head (ie would withold a 2 or 3m high column of water above the tent material) is usually good enough to repel all but the biggest deluges (and even better for glastonbury when it can be used as an emergency liferaft...)

Just the once, this last Sunday night. Had no water ingress issues at all.

However, the version I have is the "3-second Air". the "Air" denotes it has flip up side panels for ventilation, they also do a "Non-Air" version. I am a little concerned that if rain was combined with strong wind, water could drive under the side panel and reach the fly sheet.

I would say that anyone considering buying one, who might use it in very poor weather go for the "Non-Air" option just to be on the safe side. That type of also more compact and cheaper to boot. They have both types set up in store so you can compare the side panels for yourself.

That's the problem with Glasto, you get woken at 8am by searing heat due to the sun and tent combination. By 11am you are just looking for anything with the ability to keep out the torrential rain. I hope it's better this year. Do you find the 'air' model does its job? It was actually the 2 '2-Second Air' I was looking at as I hate the tent heat issues.

Something like that, but it's miles away compared with the campsites which are right in with the action.

Not really had the searing heat to test the vents yet. All I can say is that they didn't let any rain in when closed. Ask me again after Le Mans!

The 2-second Air looked a bit cosy for my liking, the 3 second is not huge. I suppose it's fine if you're bedding down with your partner, but perhaps a bit too personal for the less fragrant colleague who's coming to Le mans with me.
