It's the sound in my head as I read Blown2CV's posts.

And NumberoftheBeast, I'm sure I've seen your Porsche around a few times so if you're considering a Ferrari, please feel free. hehe

Edit: Actually I've just seen your profile... do you have a brother called Elliott by any chance?

it's no exaggeration when I say this but my 430 is miles ahead of anything else I have ever had. I've had some lovely motors over the years but there has always been a down side. my v8v was gorgeous, sounded wonderful and was a beautiful place to sit.just wasn't fast enough for me. db7 was so beautiful I wanted to cry every time I looked at it but that auto transmission was ste, it just wasn't responsive enough and transmission shunt on motorway journeys really got on my nerves.

I had a rake of tvr's but the usual issues were issues for me too!!

I've said it on here before but of all the cars I've had the three that I regretted selling the most were my mk1 golf , my mk1 Tuscan and the silver f430. letting the 430 go was the hardest by far. so much so I lasted exactly 3 months before I bought the red one i'm driving now........at the risk of upsetting blown2cv the only thing that i could ever see getting out of my 430 for is a 458. everything else is second best!!
Drive a 458 then jump into a Scud
Then share your thoughts
I had a 458 spider and a Scud at the same time, kept the Scud and sold the spider

I always feel that a scud (whilst being a bomb proof anti- depreciator......in fact a massive appreciator!!) is a bit too much track focused weapon rather than a road usable car. I see you pretty much alluded to that in terms of how much distance you can bear in yours!

also, I think if I was jumping into a 458 right now there is still a chunk of depreciation to go wheras 430's have bottomed and are on the rise( if the classifieds are to be believed)

I hear your points fella, but I still feel that (particularly with scuds up round the 150k mark with no signs of falling back) for me the way to go would be to wait till 458s are nearer to the 100k mark to make the jump. saying that, the smart move for me would probably keep hold of what I've got and down the line add something else like a 348 or a 355....got to keep dreaming!!

Yes i agree the Scud is very much track orientated whereas the 458 seemed more practical yet didn't seem special

I was passed by a white Mercedes 2-door coupe of some sort - kind of SLS shaped, sounded like some kind of V8 but I'm not up on modern Mercs unfortunately. This was in Nantwich, Thursday night.

In Didsbury, coming from Parrswood to the lights in Dids centre there is somekind of estate agents, some old green Lambo type affair sticking its nose out of the front of the shop yesterday.
If anyone is around that area can you go and confirm what I saw just to ensure my Lime n Soda wasnt laced with LSD biggrin

Stunning cars.

Have you thought about making the SV's wheels black? I'm not a fan of black wheels at all but I remember Need For Speed games featuring the SV in yellow and the wheels were always black, looked fantastic.

Often thought about having the wheels painted in black but there is one not far from me whcich has black wheels and black rear spoiler (BULL reg number) also prefer my SV to remain original factory spec

Get yourself into a good spec 997t Gen1 manual with PCCB and you will never look back
Ferrari Scud is a very special car for sure but if had to travel more than 200 miles i would want to be seated in a padded seats have some music with little or no noise from the engine
How people manage to do European tours in Scuds i will never know
Porsche for me all the way lol
laugh
Hi Rocco
I have been thrice to Spain and France in my 16M and not a problem at all. Car is spacious (took two small sets of golf clubs on trip 1), comfy and the noise is more than bearable when driving normal or bonkers when you want to terrify Spanish cyclists!!! Porsche great but in the five trips the last 4 years I have chosen 16M thrice, 993 Turbo S once and V12V once - left the 997 Porsche in the garage - says it all for me that!! Look forward to seeing you at one of the Northern events soon.

Hello there, hope all is good! (not seen you for a while)
we all have our preferences i suppose, for me one hour in the Scud/SV is enough (my ears have had enough by then and my body starts cramping up.Whereas the 997 has it all for me,comfort seats, speed (which covers ground swiftly and discreetly)
Ride comfort, sound system(okish) and a lot more room, for me that makes it a good tourer
Hope to see you soon too

Just a couple for now, more when I resize them.
A Speciale in Wilmslow (possibly a demonstrator, there's another in red in the showroom)

We just came across this old timer in Ashtomn, round the corner from my house. Mini wijit wasn't driving, you're safe!

Yeah, what is it, an extra £15k for Rosso Fuoco? Well worth it I reckon.

I still can't believe how much more money you can spend speccing your car up when new. you can hit 100k worth of extras without trying too hard!!

the trick is to let someone else go apest spending 15k to upgrade the paint and when they chop out of the car after a few years ....pounce!!

the pain in the arse for me is how strong the residuals on 458s still are even 4 years on

Yes, Elliott is my brother. Yes, I have said I would eventually consider a Ferrari but only once we move house and to a more remote/rural part of Manchester. Having the Snake Pass on my doorstep is the plan.

Anyway, how do you know Ell?

Lovely dark green, chrome bumper MGB roadster with hood down, heading down Market St in Ashton-in-Makerfield this morning around 10.30am-ish; woman driver too, which was unusual to see.
