Howdy chaps, Just picked up a set of 4x 16" Montreal 2s to replace the 15s on my Golf. Got them for £70 from a kid in Bramley - they'd only been listed on Gumtree for 15 minutes when I found them!  They usually go for minimum £150 with illegal tyres, but I've got 3 good legal ones and a brand new one so rather pleased with myself! Anyway I digress.. there is some lacquer peel and corroding on them which I'd like to get sorted before fitting them so I'm on the hunt for a good and cheap place to do them. Only one I've come up with in W Yorks is this place. Anyone used them or have any recommendations? If anyone knows a rough price per wheel too to give me an idea of cost it'd be handy. Ta.

Cas coatings in Bradford. Not used them but will be for 2 sets. They charge £1 per inch!!!

There a place at Barnsley at bottom of dodworth road 20 yards before roundabout on left metal magic or something. Also a place just opened on agbrigg road Wakefield so I heard today will try get you name and numbers tomorrow of you want

Only problem is tyre removal and fitting isn't included.. And do you not get a laqured finish for that either?
There's a place in York. Yorvik Engineering that was recommended on here a while back, I in turn recommended them to my father who's used them and being super happy with the results.

Cas coatings are good but you have to take a bare wheel to them (no tyres, no weights, centre caps etc)
They will blast them and grind/file out any kerb rash. For non-metallic its £1 per inch and for metallic it's £1.50. I had some done in anthracite grey and would recommend them any day. Fast turnaround too!

When you look at app. £100 for 4 wheels blasting and powder coating plus £60? for removal and refitting/balancing tyres then I think it's a good do for the difference it makes.

OK, thought £20 per wheel seemed rather cheap.. But you don't even need to pay someone to remove the tyres as you can do that yourself. Once deflated it's not that difficult to get the tyre off the rim, especially with a 55 profile which is what these are. Be harder with a lower profile though. So to have them lacquered and back as original it'll be £28.80 per wheel incl., so £115.20 in total which is still fair.

Minimum of £50+VAT per wheel according to their site so I gave them a miss. LSN are reasonable at £30 incl. per wheel for 16s, but like Cas they need them on their own with no tyres attached. Ian Jemison can't be arsed answering his phone and I must've tried at least 8 times today so b  ks to him! Thanks for the recommendations fellas .

N.B. Coatings in Pontefract are utterly brilliant at what they do myself and a number of oz friends will not use anyone else. You'd have to have the tyres removed and refitted elsewhere but thats no biggie tbh. Phone number is 01977 600283.

I suppose £50+ vat isnt that bad, ok it's double (ish) CAS but factor in the time to go to tyre place to remove and refitting, I don't think thats too bad.

It says on their site " From £50+VAT per wheel". Obviously that could be the price for my 16s too, but I'll bet that it's more. Most places seem to charge £15 per wheel for tyre removal and refitting, but I know a place local to me that does it for a fiver a wheel so under £35 per wheel incl. to have them re-furbed and the tyres removed and refitted is not to be sniffed at. Also with them being in Eccleshill it's only 15 mins drive from where I am which is another plus.
