Hi all,
I for one had a very good morning thanks to the guys from Specialist Cars of Malton. My third time at the event and it gets better each time. Lots of great cars and likeminded people to chat to. I received some nice comments on my Roush S/C MG although my fuel tank was slightly emptied due to the many requests to fire it up :-)
It was good to see that spirited departures (within reason) were permitted and as you can see on you tube there were plenty of guys and girls enjoying the noise! Unfortunately for me, in three events I have not seen any of mine as it departed :-( Probably due to everyone thinking it was just a standard MG ZT / Rover 75 and stopped filming lol
Oh well we all have a cross to bear :-)
Thanks again to all who helped to raise money for a great cause.

If you thought that about a Caterham of all things then I suggest that was the fault of the driver, not the car. They're widely accepted to be one of the best cars for driving out there, are you seriously saying that all those magazines for all these years have had it wrong?
Have you ever owned one?I bought mine brand new. The catalogue of failures and issues i had with the car in the short three months i owned it was just fookin beyond belief!!!!
Caterham customer care was woeful too!!!!
Felt like a right driving it on the road too!!!!

Do you mean "385".................or were you being sarkey ??
I've heard it and seen it, and its too rapid to look like like a Rover 75 !!!
I know it's supercharged- I had a lengthy chat with the owner. I was just referring to its standard name. Apologies for any offence caused- it wasn't intentional I've heard it and seen it, and its too rapid to look like like a Rover 75 !!!

I technically have a video of you leaving, but i was on the same side of the road as those exiting and as you went away from me a mini came towards me so it drowned you out somewhat.
Drowned out by a mini! The shame :-) However, does the two of us leaving count as a V12 lolBainzi said:

I attended the BB meet Sunday very enjoyable as ever. Its about the 6th one I've attended.
Its a tricky one. The event is great and all the people that volunteer and the guys at Malton Specialist Cars do a fantastic job. For it to be tarnished by idiots keying cars and revving Subarus up is very sad.
Its hard to know how to prevent this kind of thing really other than restricting entry somehow which isnt really the point. I would probably suggest resting the event for a while and kicking things off again via some selected ownners club. Try and keep the riff raff out? That said when one of the riff raff was a GTR driver how do you tell!
Funny how you mention the Subaru's revving up but not the VXR8s.Its a tricky one. The event is great and all the people that volunteer and the guys at Malton Specialist Cars do a fantastic job. For it to be tarnished by idiots keying cars and revving Subarus up is very sad.

Looks like I might not be allowed into the next one then, being the "riff raff" in the GTR.
