Thanks for an interesting day out.

The sun shone and even though it was chill, probably the best weather we've had in weeks. Some really nice machinery around and I loved seeing the work being done in the workshops on those Porches. Loved the MK1 Escort, it looked to have a bit different to original running gear ;-) The classic Mustang and the Speedsters which don't appear too much. It was my first Big Breakfast and I hope you continue to organise them, one unfortunate incident which has already had enough said about it should not discourage you, nor should it give cause for the usual public safety furore that besets our community with well meaning interfering idiocy.

Nice photos too .... Keep them coming.

Not been to Malton for a few years and it's certainly got bigger. Some nice machinery there too.

Went for a drive to Whitby afterwards and came back over the moors in the snow.

Cheers to Mark for putting it on.

Just a point. We're the burger van who were competing with the bacon but ties also donating to Air Ambliance? I wouldn't buy off them out of principal.

This was my first time at a breakfast meet and brought a friend. loved it. missed the mustang incident but you can't let one idiot spoil it for the rest. thank you to the organisers. saw some lovely cars and didn't expect to walk up to my car to leave and have such nice comments (Alfa Mito). Some beautiful machines. making my shopping list for the next car very difficult.

Just like to add my thanks to the chaps at Specialist Cars for organizing this event. I must set the alarm earlier next time. I thought I was doing well to get there 15 mins before the 8.30 start time but the place was already buzzing.

We were stood near the Holdens when one of them gave us the benefit of its engine at full revs. Pure NASCAR, sounded bloody awesome yes
Without sounding thick, are you the chap in the z4 that convoyed with Tom this morning? smile
Ah, er yes. What did I do wrong? If I did something, er, it was Louise driving! smile

Seriously though, I said at one point, it's bloody unnerving having a Mazda 3 keep up with you... a good job I know it's not standard or I'd be well peed off! thumbup

Thank you to John and the crew once again for taking the time to organise this event, but unfortunately I have to say that I'm out of future Malton meets. The reason that many people travel to this event is to see a whole host of cars they wouldn't normally see. Unfortunately this is becoming less of an attraction as the event grows in popularity; there certainly seems to be a substantial increase in distastefully modified cars and run-of-the-mill hatchbacks we could see anywhere. This sounds a little snobbish which isn't my intention, but in my eyes it's all getting less PistonHeads and more Max Power each time.

That, and some of the atrocious behavioural displays after the Mustang incident were just flabbergasting. We're all supposed to be a community of petrolheads out to enjoy ourselves. The driver of the Mustang ran out of talent, but he was no more in the wrong than any of the other drivers who applied vigorous amounts of throttle to appease the crowds. Crowds which, am I right, are stood at the side of the road to hear exotic cars drive past and appreciate the acoustics!

But, enough ranting now. John and team, thank you for your efforts once again and hopefully the Yorkshire Air Ambulance will benefit from the funds raised.

Hehe, you did nothing wrong at all!! Infact, me and my wife were praising you (and others) for how 'professional' everyone was e.g when you waited for me at the single-file bridge just before McDonalds - Other convoy's that I've been in don't care if anyone is left behind. I also loved the fact that we all had fun on NSL roads (Even the wife had an adrenaline buzz) but when it came to 30/40 zones everyone stuck to it.
I must apologise for not socialising with anyone. We were both shy & cold smile.
And about the Mazda... I honestly thought I was going to get slaughtered with all that power that was at the convoy but I think she did pretty well at keeping up. I also apologise if my chav stickers on the boot cramped your style though wink
Hopefully see you and some others at future events. bow

John, Mark and the team at Specialist Cars of Malton wish to extend their thanks to all who attended the Yorkshire Big Breakfast on Easter Sunday.

Perfect weather on the day saw the first arrivals, who had made the long drive down to Yorkshire from Edinburgh, joined by well over 3000 other enthusiasts from around the country.

Most importantly the event raised a superb £2,500 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

We hope the Mustang driver's accident hasn't overshadowed what was a really enjoyable day and hope to see you all in the Autumn for the next Yorkshire Big Breakfast.

Sounds like some people need to get their hands in their pockets to me, although commendable by Specialist Cars, if people can't afford to donate a pound for an event like this they shouldn't be able to afford to drive there in the first place.

Just seen this on the meets Facebook events page.

With the comment, washed and ready for the meet.

Its a 1.6 diesel ffs
Its gone way passed a specialist car meet and I'm fine with people coming in a normal car to have a look at exotica but like someone said earlier in the thread, they got there at 8.30 and it was already rammed. So anyone in a nice car that turns up at a sensible time can't get anywhere near the actual central garage. So to look at cars its like walking round the local asda car park with the odd nice one tooked away in a corner not being noticed.
Maybe worth somehow having areas reserved for things that are actually worth looking at then its all kept together and the normal cars further afield.
That and it ruins the background to all the above photos.

That looks better. No Charge wink

Regarding the sentiment of your Post, don't be such a crushing Snob. Not everyone can run an exotic Car due to any number of personal circumstances. The fact that people Post on this Site and attend these Meets would suggest that they are every bit as much of an Enthusiast without being in the position to own/run an exotic .
The Venue is an Industrial Estate so we have to rely on the Owners of the Units to allow Parking on their grounds. With everything else that Specialist Cars have to do to put these Events on,i doubt that they would want to take on allocating "who goes where". Accept this and embrace the Spirit of the Event; wander round, have a look at the stuff that takes your fancy and ignore the rest.Oh,and Dig Deep for your Bacon Butty and Drink thumbup

Or not bother going because after a days cleaning you have to park in the back end of nowhere because of a fleet of mum mobiles lining the streets then come back to find its been trashed by a group of 15 year old hoodies in a stolen car. No thanks haha

You're having a pop at someone who takes a fantastic effort (especially in this freezing cold weather) to make their car look its best for the meet?
