I'm still looking for more people to stand for Council in 2015 if you guys know any Conservatives?

Frankly, I don't think I could live with dealing with the amount of stupid involved in YCC.

Fines now cancelled, but still taking numbers as they're looking to send them out if they get the legal greenlight.

I'm not sure they can do that. Time will tell.

Complete farce from start to finish.

An actual democratic vote?

Who'd have thunk it from The Dear Leader JA?

Shame the people of York where never trusted to make that call.

I hope resignations follow shortly.

The vote has happened, the closure has been axed.

Big climb down, hopefully resignations to follow.

What a waste of money, thanks to the inept pinkos for wasting around £1m of our money.

Clueless, utterly clueless.

According to BBC Look North this eveming - they claimed it was `an exclusive ` - every one of the 56,000 motorists fined for crossing the bridge will now be getting a full refund - I expect this will somehow cost more than the initial harvesting.

Completely agree. When I get the money back and I next come to York I will buy you a beer so you are cash neutral! biggrin

Alcohol may have played a part in my last few posts! hehe

No, I didn't mean the refunds, which are entirely deserved, I meant the idiocy of the Lendal Bridge closure in the first place. smile

About bloody time.

The only downside is that I am paying for it and to top it off as it was deemed illegal I would imagine all the money used for the scheme from central government will have to be returned.
