Just heard on good old look north that neville Street/water Lane and Bridgewater place will be closed becuae the idiot who designed the stupidly big tower forgot about the wind. Expect delays people if coming in or out of Leeds.

They expect it to be open by the evening.

Nightmare this morning. 1 hour 40 minutes extra to get into Leeds. I think they will end up having to redesign that whole area as a result of this. I'll bet it costs a damn sight more than the revenue the council earned by allowing/taxing the building in the first place!

When they close that road, Leeds almost becomes a no-go via roads. :s

Don't you mean when any road closes / has something broken down or crashed on it the whole of Leeds becomes a no-go.

Lived in Sheffield all my life and moved here last sept and never experienced the level or traffic and queuing anywhere else apart from Leeds. Once it snowed a tiny bit and there were road works on waterfront road and it took em 3 hours to get from Morley to Wellington Street which i then gave up left the car and walked the rest.

They pretty much designed Leeds to be very car unfriendly, so its pretty bad all the time but when one route in goes down all hell breaks loose.

Just to raise this up again. Just read that bridgewater place road will be closed again tomorrow due to high winds forecast so expect utter carnage on the roads / set off earlier!

Better yet, avoid it altogether (if possible).
