The 2014 Yorkshire Spotted Thread

Loads of race/rally prepped classics out in N. Yorks today, anyone know what was going on? There was some kind of Sprint/Hillclimb thing going on near the roundabout on the A59 where you turn off to Bolton Abbey, then saw lots more out and about during the day: TR7s, Midgets, Anglias, Minis, Amazons, Fulvias and a lovely Giulia.

Sunday 13th April - Ilkley Jubilee Historic Rally and Run.

I got caught up in this near Leighton reservoir, me going one way, dem going t'other.

It will have been the Jubilee Historic as I saw the Ilkley sticker on a few, it wasn't anything to do with HW Hillclimb - these guys looked like they were doing some miles and having fun.

Unconnected to that I also saw a lovely Jowett Javelin driving through Shipley this eve.

Lovely 5 turbo leading a cluster of Renaults through Brotherton yesterday morning about quarter to 9.

Yes certainly will have been the jubilee, 80 odd classics, doing 140 miles of regularrites and special tests. It was good, tough though, my head was fried afterwards. The hill climb near Bolton abbey, is the Hawpike Farm test, a flat out blast up to the farm on the hill, then another test on the rough tracks coming out on the addingham road.

Yesterday afternoon near Ackworth on the A638 loads of tractors, old ones and new ones chugging along at 20mph. Must have been a show I think?

Forgot, last week Thurs or Fri, a very dark blue or black TR6, G registered heading towards Ossett.

Followed a nice white type r coupe dropped low (he was dodging potholes and bouncing along all the way home it was that stiff and low) with those rims that stick out of the tyres on home tonight. Quite trumpy too.

Red Jag F-Type Coupe on the M1 at Wakefield tonight.
Not a bad looking car at all, hints of E-Type I think.

Burgundy E type jag going into Barnsley from jct 37 this morning.

This afternoon around 1.30 a white New rolls Royce on the M1 jct 37. Sorry to say but it looked awful.

A grey 997.2 Turbo S on aftermarket wheels in Tesco at 6pm in Hemsworth.

F type V8S in the retail park at Guiseley with a V8R Coupe on the main road as I came out. Aural delights all round with a 997 C4S thrown in the mix down there too

I'm eagerly awaiting to spot a F Type R coupe. I really hope the supercharge whine is as pronounced as it was in the launch video. That silver GT3 seems to be getting about.

I've seen the GT3 a few times at mine, but never seen the owner or which house he's visited.

The V8R didn't have that sound at 30 on the A65 sadly

Just seen possibly the same Dino, broken down on the ring road near Horsforth. Poor little thing.
