81 on the 70 limit dual carriageway. My own stupid fault. I should have realised cameras would be about (its the 4th big breakfast I've been to)

Going down the hill? We saw that on the way home, thankfully the sea of brake lights alerted us tongue out

For all the people commenting on lads smoking weed, did you mention it to any of the police in attendance? In my eyes it's just as bad walking past an turning a blind eye, imagine if one of those mentioned got in a car and crashed, or worse, hit a car or predestination out enjoying the meet!

As for the meet, I enjoyed it. Yeah there was a lot of standard stuff there but this is what it will attract and at the end of the day everyone there has a passion for cars. The only way to get exclusivity is a venue change, like suggested earlier, Pickering show ground. An arena can be formed and cars of certain marquee will be allowed in, all others to the normal car parks and areas. Only problem then is that specialist cars have to move all there very expensive cars there too.

yep, down the hill but on the way in. I was following a lot of slow moving traffic and in my half asleep state didn't realise why they were going so slow, I moved out to overtake and got caught.

I don't know the answer to the problem brought up, but this is the key thing I go for. If it was changed to another venue then you wouldn't see Specialist's cars which, for me, is most of the appeal. Seeing the exotics, Ferraris, McLarens etc can be done at any car show, Cars in the Park for instance.

Maybe it needs allocating like a Sunday Service, with staff on entrances to the better Car Parking making sure the people on the list 'get in' at places. Then the rest of the street parking is up for grabs. Obviously a bit more organising, but once you have the 500 (just picking a random number), you could allocate them a car park and they drive into it with a printout making it easy for the marshalls.

I reckon this way you'd get people who would volunteer to do a bit of marshalling too (I would).

ETA - this way you could also incorporate a small fee, £5 or so to help boost the funds. Having a small fee also helps people commit, and may stop undesirables from attending. Should still be cheap enough for those who are enthusiasts but maybe don't have the same amount of disposable income as those with the exotic cars.

Just a thought

Totally agree about the showroom being the focal point of the meet and that would be lost which is a shame!

They can move the cars from the show room up to the show field at Pickering very easily, they show there stock at other shows, ie the annual Porsche show at Lotherton hall, if it keeps growing we will have to park up on the a64 and they will have to bus us all in, at the end of the day its held on a private industrial estate thats now to small to hold this great event, its now time to take it up to the next step.
Would they move all the cars though? Or just a selection? (Not being funny, genuine question)

If so then that seems like a perfect solution

Isn't part of the attraction, that its not a show, its not ticket only.

Its a case of turn up in what you want, at what time you want, have a wander round.

As opposed to plan to go to the show for the day to show your car, rent the show ground, pay for insurance or whatever other H&s stuff you'd have to prepare.

I think its popular because of what it is.

3 points for me, when leaving heading back into Malton. Quite dubious as there was a bit of general traffic in front of me too, ah well.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Yorkshire Big Breakfast here at Malton on Easter Sunday, 20th April 2014.

The event was the biggest ever, we had people come from Norfolk, London and Scotland amongst others.

We are somewhat disappointed at the negativity on here from some people, including those who weren't even present. The event was one of the best natured, and certainly had the widest variety of cars present, from classic to modern. We have had tens of emails, tweets and Facebook messages thanking us for the event and saying how much they'd enjoyed the day. There was a 20 minute period mid morning when we were at capacity and had to suggest people parked in town. Minutes later the congestion had cleared, as the first people to arrive in the morning began to move on and new arrivals took their parking places.

We will not be applying an entrance criteria to future events; it is the inclusiveness that makes this event, you might be driving a £500 car but end up parking next to a £200,000 Lamborghini, a classic Bentley or another £500 car. We welcome all types of cars and their drivers to the event, and it is worth mentioning that everyone starts somewhere. We are also firmly against any kind of snobbishness or elitism. In addition it would be unworkable, set the minimum value at £20,000 and those with £19,000 cars will be offended, set it at £50,000 and those with £45,000 cars will be upset.

When we formulated the original Yorkshire Big Breakfast in 2008 the whole aim was for a casual, free to enter, enjoyable morning raising some money for charity, without the stuffiness or formality of a lot of events. Over the past six years it has grown to be one of the UK's leading multi-marque car events and we look forward to it continuing on this basis. See you in the Autumn.

I just received a letter too stating that I had been speeding, but 'luckily' I have the option of attending a speed awareness course.

It is a bit frustrating in terms of where I was caught (leaving the show and just putting my foot down a tad for the crowd).

I'd suspect a few more drivers have been caught as I followed out an orange Murcielago and a few others who looked to be going just as fast.

Nicely put. I've been visiting this show for a few years now, and to be honest, I felt this time that it was pretty good for everyone. yeah, the banging music was a tad annoying, we simply wandered away having taken a few photo's of other cars around. Was great to see an Aventadot,F12 and even a Bentley blower !!
I will be back at the autumn meet, thank you Mark for putting the meet on.clapclap

Exactly the same, I was about 4 cars after the Murci.

Sorry didn't have time to put a nicely edited video together. But judging from the comments on here, you should all like the music!

I need one of those drones in my life

Luckily ive not had any letters drop on my doormat yet from the police but i guess its a wait and see, I can see why they were hard on it this year after what happened last year with the Mustang but i thought it was a nice thing to see that the police who were wandering round looked to be enjoying the day as much as everyone else

Got to admit i did end up buring pretty much a full tank just driving round after the meet, was worth it to get a photo of the jjjaaaaagggggg under the wetwang sign

Very good, a Phantom by the looks of it? Brilliant bit of kit, must have taken that before/after I arrived/left though as I'd like to think I'd have noticed the noise biggrin
