Just realised it's coming up fast! So who's up for it this year?

Saturday 14th March, 130+ miles of good roads starting from near Kirkby Lonsdale and ending up in Colne. Choice of easy (no problem for us novices last year) or harder navigation and also some optional autotest type things on private land. Anyone in any car can enter.

And free Fish & Chips at the end!

Current entry looks like this -

Morgan Plus 4
BMW 2002
Peugeot 207
Smart Roadster
TR7 V8
Mini Cooper
MG TF
Mini 850
Porsche 912
Triumph TR6
Sunbeam Alpine
Ford Anglia
Porsche 912
Talbot Sunbeam
Ford Fiesta Mk1
Fiat Panda 4x4
Suzuki Ignis
Nissan Micra
Vauxhall Viva

I hope to add my Elise to that list once I confirm someone to read the map for me.

Clashes with the John Robson/Hexham Historic running that evening, so I won't be on the MM.

That's a shame Ian.

My co-driver has confirmed, so I'm good to go this year. Will get an entry in the post tomorrow.

I'm in, a good warmup for this seasons HRCR & Targa events.

Escpecially good for finding out about the new motors fuel consumption :-)

I'm hoping it will manage at least 150 miles on a full tank. biggrin

150..... you aren't trying hard enough Ray, my Alfa won't do more than a 100 on a full tank at full chat.

150miles is just beatling aboutbiggrin

Did the YMC clubday autotest yesterday, no need to bother with the middle lever on the loose stuff with all that Torque now. cool

There were a few others out "testing" for the North Yorks classic as the venue was one used on that event.
The Tests were pretty tight and very muddy in places.

Got some nice comments about the noise it makes, just need to have it tested to make sure it isn't too fruity.

A mate is debuting his Alfa on the North Yorks classic, about 18 months after he reckoned he was too young for that sort of thing!!

Ahh, yes another 2000GTV with John Heppel Navigating. Very good, nice to see another Alfa out. I should be Porsche mounted for that one.

Cheers Ian, great shame you can't make it. Were you going to bring the truck? Make light work of the river crossing!

Do you know the venue and the surface for the other tests?

I'm assuming that the auction mart test might be repeated as we are back their for lunch, is the surface there loose as opposed to concrete/tarmac.

Are we going back to the farmyard test that they used last year?

See ya on Saturday morning.................or more importantly at the Fish and chip shop finishlick

Well, I know the answers now! Tests were Farmyard twice, Auction Mart x 3 (different layouts). Surfaces were concrete, mud- and st-covered concrete, loose gravel, and mahoosive quarry-style boulders/rocks. Wasn't so keen on the really rough upper level on the Auction Mart test as the first two attempts removed a mudguard each time so I missed the third go.

Another enjoyable day out. The roads were a little tight and slow in the morning, better in the afternoon although not quite as epic as some of the roads from last year.

Whoever was interested may be interested in the Wakefield Motor Club Nav Scat on 29 April. Last time I ran one I got my post taken down so am being careful. PM Me for more details. It's on the WIKI and regs will be available soon. A fiver to enter, most of which goes on insurance, the rest on butties at the finish.
