Hi, I'm looking for a decent car valet service locally. Always prefer a recommendation.
Its for the daily drivers which need a bit of TLC. Typical of a valet that a car would be given to sell on a forecourt or main stealer, including a good polish and leather conditioned on seats.
I don't mind paying if the job is good.
Cheers, Dunx.

This guy is a TVR owner and is really anal when it comes to detailing a car

There's a small garage and car sales at Kirkhamgate, Wakefield, called Shawfold cars. You can see the standard of preparation on all the cars on the little forecourt. Local car dealers as well as Joe Public use their in-house valeter who does a really good job and his prices are nowhere near detailers. The quote you get is the price you pay so no funny business either.
He prepared 2 classic cars for local car shows last year (currently stored on a ramp in the workshop) and won prizes with them.

What's wrong with doing it yourself?

...and coming from Yorkshire, you'll appreciate saving some money.

Thanks for the tips, they sound like what I need. When it comes down to it I'd rather go and do a Saturday or Sunday at work to pay for a valeter to do the cars to a good standard including polishing. Everyone's a winner, we all get paid and I'd rather do a bit of overtime than clean cars all day. ;-)

Castleford area - Tony Spears is a master detailer and has a variety of different levels that he will restore a car to. He has done a few of my cars and the results are always fantastic, whether its a quick spruce up or full paint correction.

Give him a call, you won't be disappointed with the output. smile

Here was work he did on my old 911. http://motorcloud.net/detail-and-paint-correction/

He's based in Castleford now.

I have Glyn O'Donnell (Elite Detailer) on site at the moment doing a few cars.

Spent 8 hours on the V12 Vantage today and looks stunning. I am sure he travels so worth a call. Good value even in Yorkshire!

Here's my recommendation :-).

A tenner for a decent basic wash without sponges full of grit from Eastern Europeans would get the thumbs up from me, and they're only up the road from where I am too, but being closed throughout winter (as per their site) is not really much use to anyone... irked
