One more thing to add- does anyone know who the supercharged white Audi R8 V10 belongs to? It was in the overflow car park. Would love to know the power output biggrin

Enjoyed today and enjoyed the mix of cars

... But, why was some really nice stuff being directed into the overflow and some pretty average metal on the estate ?

Iucky the ground had dried up or it could have been messy.
I thought that odd. I headed for the overflow first but was told to go to the main area. I mean, I know my jalopy is fabulous but still....

From previous comment I'm assuming the Astra...?

He was there last year, and that scene was the main reason I didn't go this time around.

There was both the Civic and the black Astra. There was also a turquoise Corsa making a bit of noise where I was parked.

Whilst the sceners did make a lot of noise I don't think they completely ruin the day. Perhaps in future events they can be allocated parking to the side and away from the main route.

Apparently it's about 720bhp.

Thanks once again to the guys & gals from Specialist cars, amazing turnout this time! Real shame seeing some lovely machinery turned away though, but I can't blame them for not wanting to park in the field. I'm glad I could make it with all my bodywork in place this time!!

Now, I love coming to this event & I will continue to do so, BUT - some of the kids showing off the capabilities of their sub woofers & talk of burn-outs etc is really starting to grind on me. Please don't get me wrong, I love the fact you can find an old Volvo parked next to a Ferrari (for example) but I really don't want to listen to Massive Bass volume 1374! It just knob's everybody off & is putting off some exotic machinery from coming. Yes it's all for charity & these kids may very well be putting as much money is as anyone else, but I think there's a real risk of the higher end cars just not coming at all & it turning into a Halfords car park. I hate moaning about this as much as anyone else but I do think a little bit of regulating wouldn't go amis...

Anyhow I'm trying to get my pictures off my camera at the mo so I'll post them soon. In the meantime has any one of the 300 people filming cars leaving putting the vids up?? spin

Over the past couple of years, there has been a marked reduction in the nicer high end cars. The dicks coming to treat it like their own personal ICE meet should simply sod off and arrange their own, preferably far far away. I believe that the pillocks like that honestly have spoilt it for everyone else.

Perhaps restrict entrance to the estate and have parking both ends of the main road for others?

This was the 3rd one I've not bothered going to. Quite pleased to have had the extra hours in bed judging by the comments.

This event was (for me) always about the people as much as the cars. A chance to catch up.

Seems to have all gone very ASBO and football tshirts. Shame.

I think Ben has summed it up for a few of us a bit more succinctly than I managed.

Its a shame that almost all if the undesirables aren't members here, so will be blissfully unaware of how unwelcome they are. The lowlight for me was the two 'We Love Car Shows' skanks, completely out of place for that sort of event.

Its difficult for SC as its public land so not sure where they stand legally with stopping people entering, but they need to get a handle on it otherwise their customers will stop bothering.

While I partly agree (and had an incident with a scrote on the way home with a modified red Astra who cut into a gap that wasn't big enough for him), I dont think the event is ruined. I've been to most of these over the years and this was the first one I've taken my old man to. At 64yrs old, he wasn't put off by the loud music or the walk from one end to the other and he wants to make the next one.

Turning more 'average' cars away is unfair - people should get up earlier if they want their cars seen and who decides what is worthy and what isnt? My car is lower than most (certainly lower than any Ferrari) and I got in/out of the field with no problems whatsoever.

All in all a good event for a good cause.

They really were quite grim. Clearly some self-delusion going on there.

Other than the organisers making it clear that chav sound systems and half-dressed floozies aren't welcome when advertising, I'm not sure what can be done - but they may not want to because, as someone pointed out before, they may welcome their contributions (if they made any..) to the charity fund.
