some grumpy old boys on here smile

I've been to nearly everyone and to be honest still think its a good fun way to spend Easter Sunday morning. Initially I was a bit peeved having arrived before 8;30am and having to park my Porker in a field, but with hindsight, at least I didn't get the paint scratched and didn't need to park up on a curb, unlike previous years when my CSL has always picked up a mark or 2 from people walking past it, leaning in to look through the windows etc

Shame the exotica doesn't turn up en mass as it used to, but then don't assume some owners of exotic supercars arn't low life either !

There was definately a lot less Porsche, Lambo, ferrari etc than previous years. Only way I can see these returning if there is dedicated parking for them ...

Personally, I enjoy seeing the mix of quality cars from scenes I wouldn't normally bump into. There are some great pieces of engineering in some of the modded cars.

Loud music, not really my thing but doesnt offend me and am happy for it to be there ( as long as its a single system at a time playing )

If the over flow field is to be used, how about making it part of the event, having some car club display areas etc for the those that like that kind of thing .. get the people over there

Well various roads were shown as closed so I don't see a problem in allowing certain cars to access. There are marshalls on the main road so make use of them. Simply nominate a senior man who can moderate and decide which cars get display parking and which cars get the field. All are still welcome but put the really special cars on display for people to enjoy.

Yes it will put noses out of joint. Mine was temporarily skewed last year when my M3 was waved up the road at the Le Mans St Saturnin GBW but I soon forgot the snub when I got to see some really special metal at the event.

Still think this should take on the Sunday Service format. (I say this in every thread biggrin)

500/750 people's names on a list who get access to the main industrial estate. Everyone else can park in the field. And as said above, some ICE loving car club could have a corner of that field on the very far side where no one will bother to go wink

I didn't attend this one mind, sounds like I didn't miss much.

You missed a cracker!
Great weather
Great collection of cars and bikes
Great people

Just perhaps a little more organisation and segregation?

Someone mentioned half-dressed floozies being there. Wish I had known...would've come this time.

Missed these last two events.

That sounds like the best idea! Although difficult to moderate across a number of different car forums? Maybe piston heads is the central forum with each other car specific forum referring possible attendees to piston heads.

I thought this was (again) cracking. A brilliant mix of cars. Including the 918 spyder, Lamborghini countach, a mint 205 gti with 306 gti engine, the BMW diesel powered ford escort van, a mini clubman estate with god knows what engine, more Subarus than prodrive, every hot hatch you can think of, a Morgan 3 wheeler, ferraris, Porsches even a couple of landrovers All for free.

The atmosphere is good and it's all for charity. There were maybe 2 or 3 cars with st music, just ignore it and move on.

Thanks have to go to the guys at specialist cars for another brilliant event.

They don't have to do this and I'm sure it's a load of hassle they can do without.
Hope plenty of cash was raised.

Lol, these same comments come up each time this event is held - it really does get tedious. Whilst I agree it is becoming like a mcdonalds car park meet, there was still plenty of nice cars there. And as for the parking area, it's a simple case of "you snooze you lose"

Our convoy arrived slightly "late" so we had to park on a different part of the estate. But hey, I only own a Mazda MPS so next time I'll be dumped on the grass wink

Big thanks to all the marshals & SC for a great day. My 5th time at the MBB and it’s always great to see a good selection of very different cars and to raise money for a worthy charity.
MBB is becoming a victim of its own success however, mainly due to the good vibe everyone gives it. I do agree that the out and out supercars should be given their own area which would not be difficult to arrange. The areas either side of the exit would be ideal as apart from the main SC showroom (and great food) they are near the focal point of the meet i.e. watching and listening :-) to the cars depart. The grassed area would be ideal for the more modern hot hatch fraternity as they could park up in clubs Ford, Renault, (as they possibly do most weekends at other meets) This is not being snobbish or `my cars better than yours` etc. `I can say this having the only MG ZT saloon on show on Sun :-)` But to me it makes sense to have a few dedicated areas for Supercars, Porsche`s (It is organised by SC) and then other areas for British, American, Japanese, Italian, etc. Custom, Modified, All types of V8`s, Race Prepared/track day cars and Bikes.
This sounds complicated but can easily be done. The Cars in the Park (CITP) guys have an online registration system that works well. You log in your car details in advance, the guys at SC (or a willing volunteer) work out where your parking, then you print off your own numbered parking area sign which you place in your car window for when you arrive. The marshals can then direct to your parking area. With only so much parking on site available, all the different areas could be filled up on a first come first served basis. Once the areas are full or you arrive without the window sign in the car, you will be parked up in the field or another area for overflow. This works very well for CITP chaps.
Sorry long rant but I feel something needs to be done to secure this excellent event.

Red with gold wheels? Think you ended up mixed with my convoy. Lived the mk2 that was with you!

My first time at the meet on Sunday, nothing deterred me from having an absolute blast. Some amazing machinery on display, loved watching the different motors coming and going, not knowing what was going to turn up next. Highlights for me were (obviously) the 918 Spyder, white E-Type Jag, orange F-Type Jag, Blue TVR Sagaris, Impreza right at the back with the (mental) side exit exhausts, Mines R34 Skyline near the front, and also not forgetting a wonderful red earlier model lowered Scirocco parked in the field.
Enjoyed standing at the exit watching everything leave too, during this I did notice the staff letting certain cars into the industrial estates from the queues (the E-Type, couple Ferraris) so there was some sort of order to which cars were allowed in, especially once it had filled up.

Bainzi, I saw your ZT saloon and had a good look under bonnet, looked superb and sounded awesome when it was leaving!

No mate that wasn't me. My MPS is red but not with gold wheels. I was with a megane, cooper S, gti, GTR, mclaren, s1, m135i, range rover and ferrari. We did get a bit split up on entry tho lol

Firstly, my thanks to Mark and everyone at Specialist Cars for organising this event, and the time and effort put in by everyone from the ladies serving teas and coffee through to the guys in the workshops.

Yes, there were a few too many tracksuit bottoms floating about, the kid with the sound system should have been asked to knock it off etc, but remember these guys turned up because they like their cars, just as we all do, and the opportunity to see both supercars and some lovely older machinery "close up" is really what this meeting is all about.

If I had one niggle, it would be that the stewards were not terribly helpful in pointing out available parking to those arriving through the industrial estate, didn't notice if they were walkie talkied but it would have helped enormously if they could have kept in touch and waved drivers to the next available spaces, thus reducing the backlog of cars ( I know, I know, if you think you could do it better etc!! biggrin )

And when are the roads going to be properly tarmaced !! nearly took my front spoiler off a couple of times eek

Thanks, after 5 events I’m still waiting to see someone post a YouTube video showing it leaving. Seems that most guys see the MG front end and turn the cameras off lol and it’s not until I`ve made some noise do they realise what it is and it’s too late then :-)

I did hear some lady say "Is that a V8" just before I blipped the accelerator.

Do you have a build thread for your car mate?

Have to say, by the way, that the 918 Spyder is the most impressive car I've ever seen in the flesh. I think it says a lot that it made the Reventon outside look completely ordinary.

I agree, and looking at the price list too shows, the 918 was almost quadruple the price that the Reventon was..!
