Porsche Inspection recommendations.

All, I'm after a bit of advice and help. If you'd be so kind as to share your knowledge / recommendations I'd be very grateful

I'm quite tempted by a 1983 Carrera currently on sale at YCSC in Ripon, thinking of heading up to take a look at it this weekend (I'm about a 4 hour drive away in Somerset). The car itself seems to have good history and Daniel at YCSC has helpfully provided me with additional history and info via mail and phone.

Before considering parting with any cash (deposit or anything else)I want to have a nose around the car but also would like get it inspected. Can anybody recommend a specialist in the area who would be willing to carry out an inspection?

I know Peter Morgan has a terrific reputation, but I think the cars location is out of their coverage area. I've had a bit of a nose around the net and at Specialist Cars of Malton and Porschtek as well as Strasse for possible inspection services, but its not very clear if they undertake them.

Any recommendations or advice gratefully received folks!

Have you checked Peter Morgan for coverage as he works with other chaps now to expand his reach.

Failing that an OPC inspection might be the ya to go. I've used both and Peter Morgan is more thorough, inspecting for crash damage and paint repair which OPC didn't do.

Thanks, perhaps I should give Peter Morgan a ring after all. I kind of assumed the location was out of the range they are willing to operate in.

I did have a chat with RPM Specialist Cars at Knaresborough. Who were really helpful at explaining what they could do (regards inspection etc).

Apparently the Porsche I'm looking at was inspected and assessed by Alternative vehicle inspection ltd in August 2013. So I will be having a good look through that also

I can recommended Strasse but not sure if they actually do inspections.
Carlton Porsche do them. They are in the Batley area, might be worth a phone call.
