Stonking drive out - Sunday 14th
Discussion
As above, not good weather.
Wednesday:
A dry and cloudy morning with possible early bright spells in the east. Rain spreading from the west late afternoon, becoming occasionally heavy over the Pennines with strengthening winds. Maximum Temperature 15C
Lets keep an eye on the forecast and have a meet another time, but for now lets agree a meeting place and route. I fancy an early Sunday run out with a fry up to finish, so there's no rush to get home from work during the week.
From the responses, it may be worth planning a drive from York (Pickering - across the moors to whitby, or Helmsley up to Stokeseley?)

York and Harrogate are both good starting points - York for the Moors, Harrogate for the Dales (and Fleetmoss... and Buttertubs... and Grinton Moor ). We have quite a few runs out from Harrogate, usually finishing at a particularly excellent breakfast stop.
If you fancy coming along and leading the way, we need someone who knows the ropes I reckon. I've not been on a PH drive before. Did you mention breakfast? This Sunday's forecast looks pretty poor

I'll be out at 6am on Saturday around Nidderdale for about 50-60 miles... unfortunately, on 2 wheels and no engine though
Sunday is a no go as the weather is looking horrid. I also need to get my passenger window fixed which has decided to stop working... I cannot go on a run without the roof down... and I cannot abide having the roof down with the windows up!

I used to race at quite a high level many many years ago John. Dug the road bike out in 2012 when I had the summer off, then work got in the way. I have just started riding it more this year.
We have a good, active Pedal Powered forum here on PistonHeads and a few of the guys came up from down south three weeks ago and we did the 126 mile Stage 1 of last year's Tour de France. Needless to say, they were bowled over with the scenery

Free most weekends for the next few week if any of these do go ahead. If wanting to do a Pickering / Yorkshire Moors route could meet at The Highway Man cafe on the a64 just outside York. Been a few times and there is usually a car club of some sort meeting there. They do bloody good bacon butties too
