Just got a Zetec S Focus as daily driver and it's fine - never had a turbo triple before . BUT - radio is just rubbish; it has DAB and CD etc but sound quality is terrible . When I were a lad everybody upgraded their stereo cassette but I haven't done this since the 80s.

I live in N Yorks but can make Leeds/York easily- any recommendations for a firm who can do an upgrade -not wanting to spend a huge lot but the sound is so awful it is bringing back memories of the joke radio in the terrible Citroen AX GT I had years ago...

Changing the headunit in most cases makes even factory speakers sound miles better. But I assume you aren't wanting to change the headunit with it being such a new car and it being so built in? I don't even know if a fascia adapter would be available.

Going on that i suppose you're just left with a small 2 channel amp and upgrading the front speakers, or a small 3 channel and upgrading the fronts and adding a small sub?

Its not hard to do yourself, the hardest part I guess is running the wires (assuming you're even slightly competent at DIY) and setting it up the sound afterwards.

Edit; I am in no way a professional, just have experience of doing my own car audio.

I struggle to wire a plug except under close supervision . And yes, I don't what to alter the look of the facia but just to improve the sound enough so I can enjoy speech and music again .

Afraid i can't help with a shop to do the work as I'm nowhere near you.

Changing the speakers alone wouldn't really make a difference while still fed by the stock headunit, so going with a small amp would be most likely.
