I don't have facilities to wash my car as I live in an apartment block.

I have previously used the chaps on Kirkstall Road but now I have a wrap on part of my car the detailers advised I should avoid jet washing due to potential damage. Obviously I cannot (and wouldn't) use a roller brush machine so I am a bit stuck.

Anyone know any manual car washes as per the ones you drive into and wash your own car at the garage? That way I can avoid jet washing the delicate wrap parts...

Any other solutions to replicate a home hand-wash welcome...

heh there,

Just up from where you've been using, doesn't the Morrison at Kirkstall have self use jet wash?

If you're near Horsforth I'm pretty sure the Shell garage have an area for jet washing.

As your car is wrapped I would exercise caution with using a potentially untrained hand wash and risk damaging the vinyl.

If you would like to find a suitably vetted, skilled, proven and insured professional who would be able to come to you to take care of your car please type your postcode into the search box at www.pro-valets.co.uk.

Alternatively do get in touch if you need further advice - our dedicated car care thread can be found here.

Have you read up on the waterless car cleaning solutions. No used them myself but have seen some good reports and I believe there are some demos on youtube

Both Morrisons on Kirkstall Rd and Shell in Horsforth have jet washes as other folks have said. Morrisons will probably be cheaper.

Hi mate - yes, I have and use that as an interim measure - a quick wipe over and they are good. However, this is for more when the car needs a proper filth clean. I can't help but think you'd just end up washing the dirt around and swirling the paintwork in those circumstances using the waterless stuff. It's great for a quick wipe over when it's dusty or has a small covering (I did exactly that over the weekend as it happens) but over winter I think a more hardcore offering is required.

Thanks chap - I happened to have to pop out to drop someone off in Horsforth on Saturday afternoon so checked out both the Shell and Morrisons and you are quite right. I'm Leeds city centre so the Morrisons one is a bit closer and the jet wash area seems decent enough.
