Anyone going to the East Coast Classic?

Looks like a baby GFoS at the seaside. If it's not raining we're going to wander over in the Elise and follow it up with a bag of chips on the seafront (or an ice cream if it turns out to be rubbish and we leave early)
Hope it's good, it would be great if it was the stat of a decent annual event in the North.

4 Excels and an Esprit booked in as a club entry.
A heads up for anyone thinking of taking a more interesting route there - it looks like the A170 Sutton Bank road is closed.
Also - we've been warned that the organisers have struggled a bit to get catering vans signed up for the event so it's probably best to bring your own food etc.

Sutton Bank is open as of 6pm Friday 18th (Sept).A heads up for anyone thinking of taking a more interesting route there - it looks like the A170 Sutton Bank road is closed.

Slightly chaotic "organisation", but a good day out. We were given the choice of setting up a static club display or doing some parade laps.
That circuit makes Monaco look good for overtaking, and the three hairpins are hard work. Great fun!
I think Steve achieved his main goal of showing the council that this type of event can be run safely in Scarborough. Fingers crossed for next year.

Hope he covered his costs and it would be good if it grew into something decent - there's the germ of a good event there.
Always a gamble but it was too small an event to be of much interest to a spectator. There were some nice cars there but we'd had enough after an hour and left to explore the coast and moors.

Chaotic is one word for it. but Steve only had a few weeks/months notice that he could go ahead with it following years of trying to get the council to agree. That circuit makes Monaco look good for overtaking, and the three hairpins are hard work. Great fun!

Hope you had a good day though and had enough track time.
yours,
the bloke in the control tower waving the flags out the window trying to get a handle on the goings on via the radio.
When I say "chaotic", I mean "opportunities to learn and make even better";)
Still a great event and here's hoping it grows into something really special in the future (but please! don't go all "celeb" on us - it was fantastic to be involved in the main activities as a club member this year).
Some photos and video (all mobile phone so not the best quality) from the paddock and main straight : http://s50.photobucket.com/user/marshalla99/slides...
(and thanks to all the event crew, especially the marshals, without whom none of it could have gone ahead. I particularly enjoyed the performance of the "go-go" dancer at Memorial.
Regards, the bloke who left a pile of pork pies for the crew )
