I've got a pic somewhere of when I was working locally over winter and my SL was giving 5.8mpg.
It was that or pubic transport.

Talking of which, has anyone noticed improved fuel consumption in the fog/mist? Not sure if its just the slower traffic, but my usual 28mpg is now around 32.

In a shocking turn of events, on the M1 into Leeds yesterday, traffic was travelling through the fog at good speed yet safely and smoothly in all lanes, with appropriate use of fog lighting and vehicle spacing. Its an outrage! I shall write to the Daily Mail and demand something to moan about! Still, I imagine the "smart" motorway they are "installing" will put a stop to all this.

I have a 'friend' who has a Tesla. He's a smug git and definitely a true Yorkshireman!

Did about 6oo miles in my Turbo at the weekend, Scottish hoon with the Mrs and averaged 24.4 MPG, bet your Skoda would have strugled to keep up Rich wink

hehe

/pats my little Audi A2 TDi. Only has a 3 cylinder Diesel engine with 90bhp, but ideal for my daily drive to Helmsley and back, returning 55-60mpg along the Helmsley TT (that's flat out, as fast as it will go over bumps, jumps and turns). Can get about 70 mpg and a long run.

That's the thing, the little Audi is a hoot to drive down the Helmsley TT due to its lack of power, 4x4 ride height, skinny tyres etc. It's all about the driver and concentrating on your lines, corner speed etc. to keep momentum.
