Good meeting this. Not too big and the butties were good too. For those who missed the rebadged Chimaera a couple of pics. Thanks for organising it.

Great meet, really good turn out, start of the good weather and fantastic sarnie (seriously, £2.50?!?).

Numbers didn't seem too much at issue for parking, everyone was courteous, didn't leave tyre marks everywhere etc... Wouldn't want loads more attending thought unless more room could be created down the bottom end (where the Lexi were parked).

Hope to see a regular thing, there's clearly the interest in the area to support an Ace/GT Cafe style meet.

I was the last to leave at 11.45, I was impressed with the turnout, even more impressed that the not one tyre mark can be seen on the grass, from the overspill.
apparently we are welcome back anytime.

someone counted 40 cars, and more came after that.
Great news! Decent morning out and we had the weather on side. Cheers for organising.

Hoping there will be another soon, pics look great and nice to see everyone enjoyed it. Typical that my car threw a hissy fit yesterday!! Very disappointed I couldn't make it.

Well what a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday morning, Putting the world to rights
with like minded folk, over a well priced bacon butty, and some lovely metal (and plastic tongue out) to drool over.

Big thanks to the OP for the suggestion and Bobtail 4X4 for organising the venue.
Seems like we got just enough interest to maybe make it a regular thing, perhaps some different Yorkshire venues could be tried ?

Firstly thanks to Mike for suggesting the venue and everyone else for a decent turnout. We arrived at 09:50 thinking we were early but it seems everyone else got there way earlier! I had to park towards the back, there was more space behind where I was parked and some rather forgotten looking Defenders further round there so I guess there is scope for more spots as long as people don't mind a bit of mud. Glad to hear that the grass was unmarked and that the hosts were happy with both the number of cars and how well behaved everyone was.

Some lovely metal on display, made my ISF look rather plain! I like the suggestion of mixing up venues since the demand is clearly there for regular gatherings. It's a pity that there isn't a proper Ace Cafe type venue around these parts. I guess a few of the folks in attendance today have the readies to fund a little venture like that. What do you say lads? Think of all the money you could make from selling bacon sarnies wink

Really enjoyed today!
Thanks to the organisers.

There's definitely a market for an ace cafe type place in this neck of the woods!
Look forward to the next one biggrin

I was going to say I'll try to organise something for 4 weeks time with the carding shed...but 4 weeks yesterday I'll be at Silverstone for the superbikes.

Week beforehand is SS at Santa Pod
Week after is SS at Morgan

I looked into the idea a few years ago using one of the old little chef sites when they were up for tender.

Plan was to offer various club events, invite along a few traders with things like a detailing offer, portable rolling roads etc, and the usual breakfast sarnies and coffees etc.

The figures didn't really stack up sadly. Whilst the events are fun and well attended, car folk generally leave after a single roll and a coffee and you'd need to do more than that to make it work when I did some fag packet maths.

When I lived down south the attendees at the Virginia water meets had to pay about £6 or £7 to get in to the public car park and still attracted huge numbers but I can't help but think Yorkshire folk would quickly find another location if somewhere here tried similar.

It's a nice attraction and extra income to an existing business (as long as it doesn't ps off their original market) but doesn't really work as a standalone even if you had events every night of the week.

So what we need is a well heeled petrol head that doesn't mind running at a loss. Mmmmmmm.

So I guess the best option is to find a few venues that are happy with hosting a meet and just rotate through them?

That's the million dollar question. I can think of an industrial estate or two closer to Leeds where we could meet up but I would have to arrange a van for butties. Looking at the events wiki the next major meet is Malton in a couple of weeks time and then CITP in May so that gives us all of April to pick from for a gathering.

I arranged a rolling road meet 2 years ago at RS Tuning which had a decent turnout, thinking of doing one again this year so could pencil that in for April? Wouldn't need all the cars that attend to go on the rollers and butties could be sorted out for the day too.

Great morning out. Shame my car wasn't ready but hopefully il be at the next one. Loved some of the exotic metal that turned up. Especially the green Hurrican.

Also pushed my love for TVR's. Had a real look round the light blue Chimaera and the Tamora. Hopefully will get into one soon!

Id be up for RS tuning or anywhere local.
