Lovely white e92 m3 in Menston around 1pm today, for a car released nearly 10 years ago they look very fresh.

Seen a few i8s in Kirkstall recently, one of them being VictoriaYork's bosses new toy. Saw a M635CSI (badged as an M6) in West Park a few nights ago.

Spotted N17VES in his lovely Cayman GT4 on Kirkstall Rd this morning and then a grey C63 hammering down Kirkstall Rd at lunchtime.

Lots of trouble usually serious
See, we can all spout the same old cr*p

How many Lotus were at the Newby show on Sunday and how many TVR?
Yep it works on most cars. Fix or repair daily being another good one.

Lots of trouble usually serious isn't really relevant these days though is it. I currently have just over a year of ownership and two track days; no issues yet! TVR always have and always will be unreliable. Oh well.
Can I be the voice of reason here?

I had a Cerbera for 7 months and sold it because every time I drove it something broke. It was shockingly bad! It averaged 2 breakdowns per month in those 7 months of ownership... and that was with it being off the road for about 3 of those while it was being fixed.

I replaced it with a Lotus Exige 190... I've had it 4 months so far and done about 10 times the amount of mileage in it already as its been fault free!

The Lotus is brilliant! I use it for a a blast as well as from A to B. The TVR was only ever good for A to AA!

I tried being the voice of balance with about 15 years swapping between the two marques. a 7 & 4 month ownership leads to the same abbreviated view, however. Loved my TVR's, but it was rare that at any one time everything worked just how it should. The days of the Lotus acronym having some truth are well in the past IMO, perhaps assisted by the cars going more back to basics than the Esprit era. Lets face it, there isn't much to go wrong on an Elise. A number of the TVR niggles I suffered were almost because they had tried to be too clever with wacky additions or a refusal to outsource some part of the car that an external supplier would offer an off the shelf piece that would have no doubt been more ironed out. Yes, that probably was part of the charm of the Tivs, but it brought with it some moments.

Anyway, viva la difference. Both cracking British examples that compete only with the Italians for being different and class leading. And compete with them on assessing value of an AA membership.

Had my Cerb for over a year and no problems wink But that was down to me fixing all the stuff previous idiots hadn't bothered to repair rolleyes Had the Chimaera now for 18 months and it all works as it should wink Another car that previous idiot owners never kept to mad
Yes they have niggles but most of these are easily preventable. Judging by some comments may as well scrap mine then.......getmecoat
BTW counted 50+ Trevors at Newby.smokin

I'll say no more wink

Seriously chaps - never known why you TVR boys are so defensive. I truly am a TVR fanboy but I see all these hewn from granite Tiv folk talk and wonder where these cars were when I owned mine and 50% of my car mates at the time also had TVRs in various states of mobility. As I say, amazing cars and nothing I have ever driven has the same sense of occasion. Perhaps the frailty in some cases assisted. A Cerb at 150+ certainly kept you alive and the infamous windscreen wipers peeling themselves off the screen and the bonnet catch bending as it attempted to reach for the sky helped that. I've seen body panels flying off, targa panels of a chim launching 100m north, rear windows blowing out at Bruntingthorpe, the 2 race cars failing to complete 1 lap of the LM24Hr, a 3 wheeler being overtaken by an escaping wheel, doors opening involuntarily around bends and the usual disco mix of odd electrical gremlins. And that's before the Speed 6, for which one mate had 3 rebuilds in under 10k miles across 2 cars, the permanent battle against rotting outriggers etc etc. As I say, part of the charm perhaps, but it does seem there is almost a policy line of denial. Love them to bits, but would go in eyes open.

Anyway, pleased to see 50+ TVR's enjoying Newby Hall. Still smile when I see one on the roads and will go back to my spotteds now and shut the fook up about anything else smile
