Had my Cerb for over a year and no problems But that was down to me fixing all the stuff previous idiots hadn't bothered to repair Had the Chimaera now for 18 months and it all works as it should Another car that previous idiot owners never kept to
Yes they have niggles but most of these are easily preventable. Judging by some comments may as well scrap mine then.......
BTW counted 50+ Trevors at Newby.

I'll say no more
Seriously chaps - never known why you TVR boys are so defensive. I truly am a TVR fanboy but I see all these hewn from granite Tiv folk talk and wonder where these cars were when I owned mine and 50% of my car mates at the time also had TVRs in various states of mobility. As I say, amazing cars and nothing I have ever driven has the same sense of occasion. Perhaps the frailty in some cases assisted. A Cerb at 150+ certainly kept you alive and the infamous windscreen wipers peeling themselves off the screen and the bonnet catch bending as it attempted to reach for the sky helped that. I've seen body panels flying off, targa panels of a chim launching 100m north, rear windows blowing out at Bruntingthorpe, the 2 race cars failing to complete 1 lap of the LM24Hr, a 3 wheeler being overtaken by an escaping wheel, doors opening involuntarily around bends and the usual disco mix of odd electrical gremlins. And that's before the Speed 6, for which one mate had 3 rebuilds in under 10k miles across 2 cars, the permanent battle against rotting outriggers etc etc. As I say, part of the charm perhaps, but it does seem there is almost a policy line of denial. Love them to bits, but would go in eyes open.
Anyway, pleased to see 50+ TVR's enjoying Newby Hall. Still smile when I see one on the roads and will go back to my spotteds now and shut the fook up about anything else
Would I consider buying any other marque? Absolutely not. Whichever way you look at it, they're special.

I spent two long hours recently writing up an advert to sell my Cerb through PH - and I backed out. I've spent circa 12k on this one, covering just over 3000 miles in the process (just shy of three years ownership with this particular Tiv). It did get to the stage where virtually every time it went out, it either needed recovering or in certain instances didn't even make it from the garage to the driveway. Three TVRs over five years of ownership have rushed me well over 20k in maintenance alone.

I think I'd have set fire to it! Would I consider buying any other marque? Absolutely not. Whichever way you look at it, they're special.
Love seeing them on the road though, lovely cars.
Fully liveried American ambulance going through Armley earlier. Shortly followed by a real ambulance with blue lights going that couldn't get through the traffic due to the new road layout on the bypass. Why did no planner consider that if you add a cycle lane to each side and just make the road lanes narrower to make up for it, that people won't be able to move out of the way to let emergency vehicles through?
PS the cycle lanes have actual kerbs marking them off, not just paint, and some of them are those really high bus access ones
