We are off to Richmond next week and I'm getting conflicting results looking at Google Map,2015 AA atlas etc. Is the new part of the A1M from Leeming Bar to Scotch Corner complete and open? Particularly the new interchange linking the A6136 to Catterick Garrison.

There's still some 50mph limits in place, but it's not too bad.

The slip roads are all either closed or heavily diverted, if you don't know the area would recommend staying on a past catterick and come off the a1 at either Scurragh lane (just before Brough moor services/little chef) or come off at scotch corner? Both will take you back to richmond through see by, just watch the speed bumps in skeeby and the 30mph limit past the schools, regular place to sit with speed camera.

Hope this helps

Thanks all, looks as if I will take the A6108 from Scotch Corner into Richmond,we did that a few years ago.
What confuses me is if you go to Google Map it shows A1M all the way, with a new Junction 53 linking to the A6136 Catterick Road.

Not quite done yet. They've had a few problems with water (from the sky) and cables.

There's more detail here : http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/a1-... and here : http://www.richmondshire.gov.uk/transport-and-stre...

The new junction at Marne (Catterick South) is open and connects with Catterick Road and up through Colburn

I use it every night to go home from the Garrison to Stockton

Got back,easy trip.
As you say all open, but with lots of cones and work in progress. When that's all finished it will be a huge improvement.
