Job starts in June! Really looking forward to it.
I've been doing a bit of research into the dog friendliness of pubs and the like in and around Leeds (I have a monster of a Rhodesian Ridgeback called Dennis, who loves pubs!). Its all looking quite promising so far.
Exciting! I loved Leeds. Kind of miss it now and then.I've been doing a bit of research into the dog friendliness of pubs and the like in and around Leeds (I have a monster of a Rhodesian Ridgeback called Dennis, who loves pubs!). Its all looking quite promising so far.

Congratulations! Welcome to Leeds. However if you have a bloody big dog, why do you want to live in the city centre? In a city like Leeds you can live somewhere like Horsforth (very pleasant) and have a 10 min bus ride down the A65 or 15 minute cycle down the canal to CC, and have access to fresh air, the canal, and so on, for the dog. Ditto other nice areas like Chapel Allerton and Roundhay. For reference, Horsforth is 3miles out at 9 o'clock, Chap Al 3 miles/12 o'c, Roundhay 4 miles/2 o'c. ish.I've been doing a bit of research into the dog friendliness of pubs and the like in and around Leeds (I have a monster of a Rhodesian Ridgeback called Dennis, who loves pubs!). I like Horsforth but its a big place and it seems to negate the point of living on a decent rail line to central Leeds if you have to drive to the station at that end. You could easily end up a 30 min walk from Horsforth station and still be in Horsforth. Given the premium you pay to live there, I would only be willing to pay that for the benefit of a walk and train to town. If I were to have to drive to a station (or drive the whole route) I would aim elsewhere personally.
Most of the small towns/villages on the Wharfedale line are at least short walks to their respective stations. The trains also seem a lot less crowded, a lot warmer in winter and generally a lot nicer than those that operate on the Harrogate line.

Yup. Also the Wharfedale line is more reliable as there are no other services running on the track, so less to go wrong. Bunch of North leeds faries on here.
Also look at Woodlesford and surroundings (Outlon, Rothwell, Methley). The station is at Woodlesford but easily accessed by car and there are plenty of dog friendly open spaces. Rothwell park, miles of canal towpaths, rothwell country park, st aidens bird reserve etc etc.

No it isn't. Horsforth is about 10:30. Gassing Station | Yorkshire | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
