Drove by this subtle form of advertising today: smile

I don't go to pubs, but figured I'd help them by mentioning it here, might be useful to someone. Hope it's not against PH rules.

FYI.

It looks like everything I want to avoid in a pub is right there on that advert - I'll stick to the Wakefield Beer Exchange a few doors down, best pork scratchings I've had in a long time smile

You mean 'hipster central'? Goes well with the barber shop around the corner... laugh

Walked by that place a few times, definitely a different experience. I tend to prefer the quiet places as well, and the hipsters do seem like they know their stuff. Any idea if they got non-alcoholic drinks on the menu? Piedboeuf and such.

Only go past this place on a Saturday evening around 6pm. The pavement is usually covered in well-oiled oiks, smoking, leering, shouting and showing what a wonderful place Wakefield really is. hurl

Clearly an isolated Wakefield problem. The rest of Yorkshire (and England for that matter) is known for its responsible drinking and well mannered behaviour under the influence. rolleyes

Ahh the "last chance" at the end of a night, if you hadnt pulled and still fancied a jump, you were almost guarenteed to score in the Strafford.

Can I just point out Wakefield isn't in South Leeds.
Thank you.

Objection sustained. judge

Not everyone in Yorkshire (or even in Leeds, mind you) knows where Wakefield is. I'm sorry if mentioning the big city as an index has blemished its otherwise immaculate reputation.

I walked past the Strafford last night, football on the TV, a chap on stage singing his heart out, packed to the rafters, I decided it was all down to your post on here, bravo smile
