Lot of these getting stolen around Halifax area the past few weeks. The Audis are getting stolen remotely as per the known weakness - the BMW's (M3/M4, M135 etc) getting stolen by breaking into the houses for the keys.
All going to Bradford to be stripped or put on containers. MO tends to be houses scoped out first then multiple suspects returning in the early hours to take the cars.
My CCTV picked up 4 of these tts attempting to take my neighbours M135 - the CCTV and dog looks to have put them off taking mine.

Be careful out there.

M3 has always been one of my favourite cars and, for the first time in my life, I can afford one - a used one that is. I've seen an E92 that ticks all my boxes but all I can think of is precisely this kind of thing and it makes me feel like I just can't be bothered. Such a shame.

I wouldn't worry, I've had 4 x M3 1 x M5 and have not been relieved of them in the middle of the night, just get one if you want to.

(yes I know I've tempted fate!)

I had my new M3 stolen a few years back, well actually they stole the dealer's courtesy M3 that was the same colour that I'd borrowed whislt mine was in the garage.
Since I put the CCTV up and got the dog everything has been ok.

I suppose you have to be pragmatic about these things - you get something nice then someone is going to want to take it. You try your best so they can't and hope that works - but certainly don't let it stop you buying a car - otherwise they win.

Indeed you can't let them win on that score, it could happen to me as well but, I do what I can to minimise the risk.

Bloody scum bags, I heard of a few car jackings in the Shipley area recently as well.

Only had my M5 two weeks and was burgled. Luckily they did not get the keys and we must have disturbed them. There seems to be an epidemic of thefts involving breaks in and taking Keys left downstairs. This is happening in Skipton, Haworh, Oakworth, Keighley, Bingley, Baildon and Shipley. I think there have been instances over Ilkley way too.

The other night somebody had a white 135iM stolen at traffic lights in Shipley.

The crime level in this area is getting ridiculous.

Bloody hell and to think that car was outside my house down the road for 12 months with nothing happening, really hope that doesn't spoil the experience of the M5.

A friends son had his RS6 taken off his drive (baildon) whilst he was away but he does live his life through facebook so the scum bags knew he wasn't at home.

Yea, it certainly soured it. But then they seem to be also stealing basic cars like Audi A1's so basically leaving your keys about and they will be after it. It's unnerving seeing various cctv footage of these scumbags checking properties out.

There was a property done same night as mine in Baildon. Iirc they took an Audi and merc off the drive. They then came back about an hour later and took the Porsche out of the garage!!!! They rolled it out and started it down the road. Keys has been left in the kitchen.

This could be the same gang that took my F30 328i and my wife's Golf in March, greater Manchester. MO sounds very similar.

A neighbour directly opposite saw three men on our drive at 1.00am, obviously on recon. She came over and alerted us.

I did nothing.

The following morning at 6.00am the doorbell rang, same neighbour, alerting us that both cars had gone. Front sash window lifted, despite extra locks, nothing else taken. Police said that about 15 BMWs, Audis , RRs and Jags similarly taken that month in our area.

Phone call in August. Police found my engine on a lorry in Dover bound for eastern Europe, along with legitimate engines.

My wife replaced the Golf immediately.

I waited four months, bought one of the last E39s which turns out to be a lemon.

Keep opening the curtains each morning and hoping..............

Yep Saville Park and Copley plus a few recently in Greetland and Riponden.
I live on a cul-de-sac so these aren't random spur of the moment raids - tipped off by taxi's and take away drivers is the most probable MO

Police appeared to know who is doing it and the garages/chop shops that are fencing the vehicles - but like everything they have to prove it.
The fact a 16yr old is selling a new RS4 for £5k isn't enough to prosecute the person buying it! "I thought it was his parents innit - getting a bargain bruv"

Increasing ANPR across the Halifax/Bradford border roads but like most things there isn't the money to provide a decent coverage.

Son-in-law just bought an M135 and he lives in a quiet dark street in the Halifax area. He's on a course with BMW for 2 weeks so the car is stored at the dealership. God knows what he'll do until these morons are stopped.

Friend had his Mercedes stolen from Batley area last sunday, C220d, so not high end, but stolen anyway. Broke into house and found keys during night.

Police told him 44 cars were stolen in the last 48 hours by similar method in West Yorks. Surely some of the higher end cars would have had trackers?

I've always been paranoid about security, even more so since I got my S3 - I know how much scum of the earth love to help themselves.

The other week, my girlfriend was going to the cinema in Halifax with her friend (in the new complex). I said that she could take my car but she didn't want to risk curbing my wheels in the car park so she took her own. Around a week later, I read on the T&A website that a woman was car jacked in the same car park and that she was driving an S3. Scary stuff.

I'm reluctant to let her drive it on her own now, which is sad frown

My tips are to install CCTV, upgrade your door locks, don't leave keys in sight, get your house alarmed and watch out for dodgy characters trying to follow you home.

I'm sure I had some dodgy characters trying to follow me late on Sunday night. They flew up behind me in a Golf and were flashing their lights. They then sat back and happened to be going in the same direction as me for quite a while. As it was late on a Sunday night, there was no traffic and I didn't particularly want to be followed, I decided to 'build a gap' and went around the block, just to be on the safe side. Never saw them again and maybe it was me being paranoid but you've got to be wary of stuff like this, haven't you?

To be fair though, touch wood, I've had mine since March and haven't had any other issues. Long may this continue!

Yes, why no trackers on these nice expensive cars?

If that figure is correct what exactly are west Yorkshire police doing about it? Anything? rolleyesscratchchin

Been thinking of getting a CCTV setup for a while now. I don't think an ISF is really that desirable to scrotes but you never know.

Similarly, a colleague had his 59 plate 118d stolen about three weeks ago, also from Batley. Both keys were still in his possession so presumably taken via the key clone method as widely reported a little while ago. Hardly a high-end or particularly desirable car so it doesn't seem to matter what it is.
