I have to agree out of sight but not next to me, I don't want that kind of trouble.

Wonder how long the black Golf R will last down a few streets from me then.

I'd wager it'll be fine as will most cars, not nice this little crime spree but car theft fell to a 48 year low in 2015.

This thread got me a bit concerned but its less of an issue than it was.

Way back in the 1990s when West Yorks Police got their first helicopter, I remember one of the air support unit coppers saying that they had recently nicked a small group of people who had moved into the area and were responsible for a sudden huge spike in thefts all over the area. From the numbers of cars disappearing it looked like a flood of gangs had suddenly descended on the area, but it was only 4 or 5 people. I suspect the same is probably happening now. The greedier they are though, the faster they get caught. I wouldn't mind them getting caught a bit sooner though!

These fkers want hanging, it's a risk owning anything desirable nowadays.

Veeeery interesting...

About 3 weeks ago we (in the glamorous suburbs of North Wakefield) had the police doing door-to-door in our street. It seems a "neighbour's" car had been stolen and an attempt had been made on another car. All the cars in the dozen or so houses in this part of the street were present and correct, so my assumption is that it was either the Jaguar XK convertible (certainly not new, but pretty flashy to the right people) or a fairly new Range Rover that lives further up - both are garaged and not visible from the road.

Very unusual to have this happen, and even more unusual to have the police doing door-to-door, so I wonder if they broke in and there was a physical altercation. For 3 or so days afterwards we had some pretty high profile patrols taking a slow cruise down the road at all hours of the day and night. I'm pretty sure the police don't do this for your average car theft.

It has made me think twice about buying a car from one of those pseudo-premium garages in Bradford. I was contemplating going to see this A4 Avant at the weekend, but having seen what the rest of the showroom is like, I'm not so sure now.

The car http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

The showroom http://www.sdprestige.co.uk/ (with a notable lack of cars for sale)

Seems to be mostly Kahn type cars. I'm sure they are lovely people and no connection with anything dubious at all, but I think I would be uncomfortable there.
I viewed a car from there a few years ago. At the time they had a light blue 430 spider in stock and parked out front.

Really? That's too close for comfort, not that my current cars would be of interest but worrying all the same.
