Lowly Golf R owner but I am definitely up for a drive, wherever it may be. None of my close friends are in to cars and dragging the missus out with me for a gander often results in her commenting on my driving. Will check back regularly!
- Hull based
Haha i know the feeling...

.....and me....you're lucky she only 'often' comments on your driving! If we have to go anywhere I take the PHEV....just ain't worth the grief smile...'too hard', 'too fast', 'too loud' ......

would certainly go out again, was good fun... even tho I really need suspension replacing, Its too hard for normal roads frown Have to keep backing off when roads are bumpy which is not ideal

A spirited 20-50 off a roundabout had her giving me the silent treatment for the rest of the day. Sure i can use that for my benefit in the future biggrin

Anyone up for a drive at some point whilst the weather is still good?

We stopped briefly at the Lion Inn at around that time so yeah, was us. Ended up with multiple 911s, Corvette, Aventador, 599, R8, R35, DB11, 12C Spider, 650, M3, Aston etc. The Aventador is drool worthy. Some of the cars are below, I was in the white 911 Turbo.

That looks like a great drive out. What's the deal with the SCD drives? Are they regularly organised?

It seems everyone else has the same idea to go out early to "beat the traffic" now. Went out for a drive this morning about 5.30 - 6am starting top side of Leeds and going Otley up to Blubberhouses, Skipton, Grassington, Pateley Bridge and back down and even off the 59 the roads had far too many dawdlers doing 30mph in a NSL, cyclists (out at 6am WTF?) and even 2 horses. It was about 8am when I was coming back from Harrogate area down to Pool and then Bramhope and holy crap, I've seen less cyclists when the Tour de France was on. I think every cyclist in West and North Yorkshire is out today, clogging up every road. They should get better jobs that pay more money then they'd be able to afford a car like every normal person wink .

Yes, they have a lot of events, information on meets gone by to get an idea of whats going on can be found on their website:

I was out with them for a Yorkshire Dales run three weeks ago, a Coast run last weekend and was planning to attend a big private event at a Castle Yesterday (110 SCD cars down to attend) but decided I didnt fancy spending four hours in a car on such a glorious day. Point being that they have a very full calender.

I think that tends to happen in the first few weeks of good weather but then it naturally dies down. I'm always game for getting up at silly o clock for a good drive out. Sunrise is at 04:40ish these days so makes sense to get out around then. My only problem is my navigation skills suck so whilst I can remember some of the roads from previous PH drives out I can't quite remember how I got to them. Made the mistake of a mid afternoon drive in April alongside a mate in his Elise and he ended up getting papped by a discreetly placed camera van.

My next car is on that list (albeit at the lower end of the flash metal spectrum), events sound good but it's the early morning drives that I'm more interested in.

Yeah I know what you mean as I had to anchor up on the Otley-Blubs road near Timble when I spotted one in the distance on that top flat bit near Timble. He was actually just sat in his car doing some paperwork luckily but if he'd been pointing a speed gun my way I'd have probably been looking at a court appearance rather than a simple FPN...
