Having observed the posters responses to other threads and the reaction they have created there its quite clear the person is a serial loser. Probably hangs around with a similar gang of losers who all get off on the same tripe and think they're brilliant. Wake Up Call !

Its nice to be near the sea - Brid has had a some investment in recent years along the south beach but I wouldn't want to live in it other than at the southern tip (after robbing a bank). Sorry if I missed exactly where your mum lived but if it suits you from that regard it could work well. If money and property availability matched the prospect of a sea view - even from one window - it would be brilliant.
To the north my suggestion would be Filey.
We ourselves are 4 miles outside Scarborough - again - I would not choose town centre unless some miracle sea view property was available.

All that jazz said:
Your autistic son, obviously. Unlikely going to be a hit with your new OAP neighbours.
Can you care to elaborate?....maybe I'm missing something too...scratchchin

That seems a very strange thing to say.

yes its a bit quiet, but you have Brid not far off, the old town is nice. plus you also have scarborough, filey, robin hoods bay and whitby close by too and some lovely roads and scenery. I would live there if i didnt need to work to be honest. a lot worse places you could be.

Thanks again peeps, just showing themselves up for how clearly unintelligent they are. I pity them, clearly didn't get enough love and cuddles off mummy as a child that they have to hit out at a poorly very much loved child!!

Anyway... Moving on....

Yes love those areas too! smile

My Comments for what they are worth:

I used to live in Brid (My Mum still does North side towards Sewerby) i would say if you dont need to rely on the town for Work (there is very little without travelling far) then it can be a nice place to spend time especially in summer, and on the North and south beaches. The coast from Sewerby right up to Flamborough is a nice place to be, has great views and some nice people (and yes even old people!) Also a lot of money as gone into the south side, Spa and the beach on south side is really nice and very clean.

I wont comment on your Son and his condition much - but can only see the OAP generation being generally very understanding and supportive - so dont take any notice of previous comments.

Flamborough has some nice property, a two nice pubs (The Star known locally for a good Sunday lunch) and local shops, a garage, and is not too far to drive into Brid or even Filey/Scarborough.

And certain areas of Brid do have some issues (mainly town centre late at night) but it seems you have an idea of what you need, when, and can drive - so the 5 mile drive to town wont really give you much pain.

The tourists wont give you any headache, and i'm sure the peace and quiet and the nice walks and beach/cliff views will give your son a added boost.

I would continue with your plans, maybe go stay for a week, and do some research make your own mind up after that.

Good luck, hope everything works out for you.

Andy

Its the one we use when we visit my mum, she likes it as well. Won awards, and rightly so.

Like i say dont be too put off by Brid, take it for what it is, and the villages around it are very nice and quiet so a good choice with Flamborough.

Also worth considering are:

Leven
Brandsburton
Beeford
Sewerby

All the best
