I might like to come to this, any cheap B&B's or Hotels within a short walk?

The Wetherspoons we're starting from has a Travelodge attached, and there's also a 'Quality' Hotel across the road.

As for curry houses, I know Jinnah Balti is a good place, and adjacent to Micklegate Bar if we end up that far over.

Oh, and I should be able to drag a car-minded mate of mine along - he's been meaning to get in on this PistonHeads lark, but would rather meet people in person than talk to weirdos on the internet

I have it on good authority that Ujala (Nunnery Lane, near victoria bar and micklegate) is very nice. I've been there too (its 30 seconds walk from my house!) and its pretty good.

when in york I always stay at the seahorse hotel (as described here) opposite the barbican centre near walmgate bar. it's got nice rooms, seriously cheap beer and does a fantastic fryup in the mornings. it's only £60 a night B&B too

if we're doing a wall-walk pub-crawl, I hate to disappoint you but the majority of the pubs we're in will be full of people over 50.

This is very true... and they're nearly all bl**dy real ale pubs too.

Tom - I can vouch for the fact that the main bars in and around town centre have veritable multitude of top totty for the discerning man about town

... so if you fancy twagging off into town half way round the walls let me know ... always up for a night out in York.

you're on!

how about a few runs around past the bars in the centre in the fezza then park it up safe and nip back to take advantage of all the shallow maidens that threw their keks at us while we passed?

A few years ago on a night out in York I did actually have a young blonde lady lay herself across the bonnet, then stick her head through the window and snog me! AND THAT WAS IN A WHITE FORD PROBE !!!!!

So, all we need is a hotel with a decent sized carpark so we don't lose our space

er, and permission off Vicki to go out on the lash the weekend after i get back from taking the car down to Spain! could be tricky!
