Well our Barton le Street dangerous driving boy has been summonsed to appear before Scarborough Mags on 17th Aug

Depends on his plea whether we have to go as witnesses to describe his deparately poor driving

If he pleads guilty - then no
If he pleads not guilty then expect a summons to Scarborough!

Anyone fancy a convoy? ;)

Witness testimony, fish and chips, all lemmon Jacolnelis ice cream, two laps of Olivers Mount and then home

Is that the lad from the run out that overtook on the other side of the traffic island. Or... is that the lad from when you were out on your own???
Or am I getting confused with a different one

Can't do a run out, i'm on my jollies again (off to drive the Adriatic Highway) but I'll see you for bbq next week

Yikes, glad I wasnt coming the other way. I have been away for a few weeks, so dont know the story, but am I guessing your witness to the prosecution then?

Got the letter. They haven't asked me to appear for the prosecution so they must have a strong case.

What't the story? Was he spotted by a TrafPol or did you process him?

If it was you, then glad to see that you get involved with stuff when not on duty. Good man!

Quick response so not too detailed
Plus its subjudicy and all that

Queue of tvr and pistonheaders on BNG tester

Going down through village 40mph limit
4 PH cars at head of queue, matey in 5th place
Double white lines - 3 side junc's in dip -
Matey overtakes all 4 of us and pulls back in just before top of bind crest other side of dip

Oncoming car and head of PH queue narrolky missed as matey squeezes in between!

Number taken - reported to traf pol and witness statement given by PHers

Now its the courts job!

Book him danno. (sorry, bet your fed up of that line)

I have no time for anyone who drives like that. It's why i stopped going on drive outs. One of the lads on my final drive out did an overtake on a blind crest with white lines. He was on the otherside for at least 15 seconds! Total muppet.

ps. technical question. dashed white lines with sheverons in them. Can you over take or do you have to wait till you get passed? and what about the ones filled with red?

if the line is hatched and it is safe to do so ( matter of opinion ) then you can cross into the chevron area - that's right isn't it Rich ????

IIRC, chevrons are there as a caution...but it's the lines bounding them that count - dotted implies you can cross, solid is the same as a solid centre line on your side.

Filled with red? No idea...not seen any like that.

Cheers

Started to see them around, there's one from pool to otley on the only bit that's safe to overtake on.

A biker died about a year or so ago , not sure of the details but at both ends of the long bit are quite sharpish bends.

Just normally get stuck behind the micra driven by ethel on her sunday drive out :|

I don't think it is just Sunday's. I used to drive York to Ilkley every day, the road was full of bloody Ethels, and 40 would have been a blooming luxury.

Yorkshire seems full of them, "ooh look there's a car coming the other way, hit the brakes" or "ooh look the road isn't perfectly straight, hit the breaks" or the general "ooh, 35mph makes my head hurt"

I think these bad drives just encourage the morons to drive their worst just to get around them

Rant over
