I have the same question but for Leeds / West Yorkshire.

There seems quite a few places advertised but how experienced and professional are they? I don’t want to send my pride and joy to some newbie with a rattle can of grey spray paint

For Leeds/West Yorks, Wheel Specialist in Garforth is where my money would be going.

Dont assume that the fanciest website and customer waiting room has any relation to the quality of the work.

Because they did the worst wheel 'refurb' I've ever had... after charging the most. Garbage.

Any of the backstreet places in Cas do a better job for less money.

I've used Midas Touch a few times, cost effective and always been superb. Very much not a flash 'professional' looking outfit and all the better for it.

This ^ .

Neighbour had his Focus RS wheels refurbished by them after reading the reviews and they were very average. Paint runs and bubbling places. Also, despite religious cleaning every wheel, they were quick to corrode and needed redoing again after a year.

It's the same as OEM you 'tard. Let's see some close-up pics of your wheels in between the spokes meeting the hub for comparison.

Scuff Medics are OK but probably the best in Donny.

I've also used ARefurbs but wouldn't recommend them.

Metal Magic in Barnsley. Always been happy with the finish in the finish. Had 4 or 5 sets done in around 12 years or so.

I paid £240 for some 17s doing, and that included tyre refit and balance. That’s a fair decent price for what the process is.

Ian Jemison Engineering in Bishopthorpe near York has been repairing our scuffs for over 30 years. His son Ben is in charge now but Ian’s still there. I’ve always been happy with the results. It’s useful only living two miles away as well!

I’ve had him recommended as well.

I used TWS in Garforth for years - great job. However last time I took in my Alfa 159 and one of the wheels in particular is the worst job I have ever seen - it’s just dreadful. I’ll grab a pic later when I go outside. It’s laughable. When I called they said “oh it was corroded and that’s as good as we could get it”. Absolute bks! I’ve taken quite badly damaged stuff (scraped faces, gouges) there before and they came back perfect. It’s a big effort getting stuff to them so I never got it fixed. It’s bad enough that you can see it ten feet away.

They’re also twice the price of anyone else too. They won’t ever see my business again.

Garforth “Wheel Specialist” - check this out (it’s wet out but you can see where I’ve wiped a couple of spokes)…

That’s not moisture - that’s the actual state of the powder coat; the entire wheel is like that. I reckon a blindfolded four year old could do better.

Well, you were forewarned by 'snotrag' and myself back in August last year if you scroll up!

You should dry those off, take a bunch of pics then post them here with a few choice words to warn others.

And if you read what I said above - I’ve had several sets done by them in the past and they’ve been excellent. That last set (pictured) is simply appalling though, and they won’t be getting my business again (and anybody else’s that I can influence). The attempted phone fob-off was the last straw.

Post the pics on their google business. People need to be aware as they have far too many positive reviews in recent times, maybe fake and written by themselves.

A friend of mine did have some wheels done by them and they were good, but it was about a decade ago now. Clearly something has changed in between times - probably a change in staff, and now there's some cowboys and amateurs on the job.
